I have truly loved the experience of going to school at Stark State College. First, the tuition is a great deal, especially when comparing to a 4-year college. Yet, in spite of being 2-4 times less expensive, the labs were terrific, and the credits transferred directly with any state school.

A great option for prerequisites for advanced degrees. Second, the professors I have had have all been terrific, and there are typically many options to choose from as far as teachers and styles. Lastly, there... Read More were a lot of different resources that are available to help a student succeed and find a good path for their career. In summary, when it comes to useful degrees, high quality education, and overall experience, I think Stark State gives the best bang for the buck around!

My complaint is the misinformation I have been given buy the Administrative and Admissions staff.

Firstly when I met with a counselor in May 2011 I was advised that the program I wanted was not offered at the school yet but it would be available in the fall 2011. I was told that it would be beneficial for me to enroll in another program that would augment the one I wanted and that when that program started I'd be able to switch it.

A few months passed and I approached the counselor about the program... Read More I originally wanted. I was told that I misunderstood her at the initial meeting and the program was not going to be offered at that location. I was now stuck in this school enrolled in a program I did not choose. I decided to finish the classes because at that point I was past the halfway point in courses and knew some classes might not transfer elsewhere.

With my last class being in August 2012 I contacted the school for the date of graduation so I could tell my family. I was told that graduations are always in June and because I finish in August I'd have to wait until June 2013. I asked if there was a waiver or some way to be able to participate in June 2012 and was told NO. I am truly disappointed that not only will I be graduating with a degree they tricked me into but I won't even get to participate in the graduation.

My time at studying at Prism was Excellent due to my instructors. One Instructor in particular Dk. DK was dedicated to teaching and guiding his students in each course i took with him.

His classes were always informative, applying modern day cases helped better understand and grasp material. DK's research and writing assignments have proven me to become a better analytical thinker.

Couldnt have asked for a better teacher, through his assignments of various legal applications I was able to apply what... Read More i was taught and has made me more successful at my current position.

I am a recent graduate of LTI (Lincoln, RI campus) in 2011. I studied Medical Assisting. I had a wonderful experience at my clinical externship and was hired before I even graduated. I was able to accomplish this because of my education at LTI. I have read all of the other reviews and can agree with both sides to a certain degree. While I attended LTI there were things that I didn't like or agree with 100%, but things aren't always perfect in everyday life.

Whats important is to be mature enough... Read More to handle different problems and situations that arise. As long as YOU as a student are dedicated to achieving your personal goals, then nothing will stand in your way to getting an excellent education at LTI.

The instructors are very dedicated to helping you succeed and go above and beyond to make sure you do. The hands on experience at LTI was very educational, enjoyable, and easy to understand. The text books as well. Some classes can be very challenging, others a breeze. They offer tutoring if ever needed at no extra cost. There were things I didn't like about the school. Like if you get sick or anything, including surgery. They don't except Dr's notes. They will drop you from the program after 5 days absent. No excused absenses unless there was a death in the family.

A few of the insturctors really seemed like they hated thier job. I had one like that. The dean of LTI was an a**. If you ever have any complaints, its not worth wasting your breath to go to him. He really has an arrogant attitude and could care less. It is mostly women/girls in the Medical Assitant program. Alot of drama and gossip and even a few fights happend. Mostly involving the students just outta high school.

The breaks could of been better. You get (2) 10 min breaks and (1) 20 min break. Doesn't really give you much time to eat. But, over all I am glad I attended. I thought I was very well prepared for my clinical externship. LTI did an excellent job helping me prepare for the state exam to become registered, and build my resume. I would recommend LTI to those who are SERIOUS. Its a fasted paced program and a quick way to get an diploma. If you don't take time to study and pay attention, you will fail. There was alot of that unfortunetly.

Its only a 10 month course. They only have 1 graduation ceremony a year. So you may have to wait months to actually "walk across the stage". Your diploma usually comes in the mail 3 months after your graduation date. I kinda do wish I would of pursued a nursing program. Mostly because I wanna learn more and be allowed to do more like I.V'S. So if your into that, I would go elsewhere to do a nursing program. I am in the process of continuing my education to become an RN. But, as of now I am a Registered Medical Assistant, employed at an Urgent Care, Thanks to Lincoln Technical Institute.

I always laugh when people say "$30,000 ... sucking poor people dry". Come on. When I signed up, they told me how much it cost. Didn't they tell you too?? That's a lot of money, yes, but that is what education costs!!! Go to any private college and ask and the tuition is that or HIGHER for all of them. The only "cheap" tuition is at community college which is all paid for by government money ANYWAY. So whether you go here, or there, you're still paying for it no matter what.

What I can say for sure... Read More is that when I started school, I had no job. Now that I've graduated, I have a job that I love. It is an amazing experience for me to actually enjoy going to work. That's something I never thought I would have in my life. The teachers at STC really wanted me to succeed.

I believe the key to finishing any school is to want to finish. Everyone has problems along the way -- you just have to want to finish. If the teachers see you strugling, they'll help you because they know you want to finish too. If you want it, you can earn your degree at STC. It's as simple as that.

I was a great student here and was in the showcase a couple times along with being an honor student but that really means nothing sometimes. There are excellent teachers here and they are more than willing to go out of their way to help you. The problem I had was that you need money for all the computer programs (unless you dont work and have the time to stay after class), books, supplies, and printing that you will be doing.

My career counselor was horrible, she kept placing me with jobs that did... Read More not pertain to my degree and for what I am paying in student loans I think I would have been better off at a college and not an institute.

I went here for graphic design and only had two classes on web design...if you do a job search today they want you to have web experience along with design, I did not think two classes was enough experience. Just some things to consider!

I enrolled in the Medical Office MOA program. after completing this in october im still looking for a job on my own. Career services has vanished. i got a job through a staffing agency at a call center and they put me down as having employment.. even though its was a temp assignment and not in a medical office.. then i went to the community college to continue on for a medical assistant and NONE of the credits transfer!!! I am so mad!!

Im getting ready to start paying back $13.000 with no job and... Read More no way of going to another college with the classes ive taken.. They were all for calling to see if i wanted to continue my education!!!!

i attended uei in 2009 hoping to make something out of myself and become a pharmacy technician within less than a year. uei san diego is a nice school but not the best. the instructors are always late but taught well. the lab was provided with the right materials and everything but something was always sketchy about the school. we went through cpr training and was suppose to be cpr certified but we never got our card.

after i graduated, i interend at walgreens but i didn't get a job after that. now... Read More its 2011 and still don't have a pharm tech career. also, they assign you with a different advisors every month. its hard to keep up. i feel like this school just want you for your money. now im stuck with a big loan that i have to pay back. this school needs to be sued. i'm not getting helped a lot. it seems like the people that work there only have their jobs temporarily and its always hard to get help because it also seems like they don't know what they're doing.
