SNHU has been a great choice for me while pursuing a business administration degree. From the start the flexibility of online courses is convenient if you are a full-time working adult. I will say that the learning environment is one where you have to be motivated to do the reading and research yourself on topics to produce quality projects/outcomes for your classes. Read More interacted with for the most part have been great and provide me with detailed feedback on grading of assignments. Most professors have doctoral degrees and I've only seen one or two that just held a master's degree in their respective field. I have taken classes at a local community college in person and honestly the workload/difficulty was fairly similar. The only difference being that SNHU has compressed semesters which I actually prefer. Academic advising has been AMAZING and even call me to check in every few weeks to make sure thing are going well and are ready to provide resources to help you in your journey there.

I love this school. I left for a short time before Ashworth started offering Bachelor Degrees, and enrolled in a 4yr institution (yes I have been trying to get my degree that long). The other school was very expensive, and also required much more online time than I had time to give. The guidelines were very strict for someone that had a busy schedule. I was beyond happy when I re-enrolled at Ashworth. I lost a lot of credits through fault of my own, but I was able to quickly get my Associates. Had... Ashworth has been great about working with me, and applying anything that they could dig out from my other studies. I am now not far from my Bachelors and am saddened that they are no longer offering the Masters. I only hope that I can find a school that is similar to Ashworth to get my Masters and Doctorate, but hey lets get one degree at a time, right. I would recommend this school to anyone that already has too much going in life. I would recommend it to anyone that has a disability as well. I have severe anxiety and it works so well for me. I had tried going to a university prior to Everglades when I was younger and fresh out of high school. The stress was overwhelming, coupled with constantly being broke and unable to work due to the demands of my studies. At this first school, financial aid was unhelpful and I generally had no guidance. I was forced to drop out for financial reasons. Five years passed and I was finally ready to resume pursuing a higher education. Everglades University went above and beyond to ensure my success in... Read More all areas. I studied online from home, completing one course each month. This greatly assisted in me finding a work/school/life balance that was manageable. I have been able to excel and receive the grades I know I am capable of. Financial aid was a breeze, everything was laid out for me plain and simple. My academic advisor has helped me with my resume, cover letters, and any and all advice I need in my career search. The Dean is incredibly kind, patient, relatable, and knowledgeable. The professors are fantastic. They are fair, useful, and always excited to share what they know with their students. I am very happy and satisfied with my education and degree earned at Everglades. I am already working in my field as an energy efficiency inspector, and I am excited to see where else my degree can take me. I recommend everyone I know in search of a degree to go to Everglades.

Now the University of Arkansas Grantham, I hope they push for better accreditation. Like most online schools I had some really bad professors who basically just gave you As. I also had some real tough professors who really pushed me to do better work and judged every assignment. If you cant manage your own time, do not attend an online college because that's part of the learning. You need to be able to understand what you are doing each week and manage your time to complete the assignments. I work... Read More for the government so getting the degree done increased my earning potential but that did not take away from the amount I learned at Grantham. I have used a large portion of my lessons in my career already and look forward to the rest of it thanks to Grantham. While the school had a bit of a diploma mill feel, you need to make an effort to learn and apply the lessons. Yea you can pass going through the motions but don't you are cheating yourself.

I absolutely love Ashworth College. I earned a human resource associate in 2020, now I am enrolled in the business administration bachelor program. I cannot tell you enough how earning an associate has helped me in the workplace, it's completely changed my life. The program is very challenging, filled with excellent lectures, videos and staff support, most importantly it is affordable. I am a current student at Strayer University and now that I am very serious about my education and have done very well in the three semesters that I have attended, I am now being forced to pay the full tuition thanks to the tax verification process. I have submitted to them my 2016 and 2017 tax transcripts and they keep insisting on that I needed to submit an amended tax return to them that I did not have. I am now waiting since I was forced to amend my taxes and now I am facing a large bill of over... Read More $10,000 if my amended taxes aren't completed by March 18. Plus I am not receiving a 1098T from the school. No wonder my student success coach is starting to act irritated everytime my husband (who is also a student and going through this verification mess and he receives disability) and I try to reach out to her. Capella University refuses to help struggling students by denying options for aid. I lost my job due to COVID, therefore, I lost tuition assistance from my employer. Capella University sends out communication that says they are helping students by suspending billing. I applied for Financial aid from Department of Education and was awaiting my award. Capella dropped me from classes in November because of $2k past due balance (but billing suspended). In December my financial aid was approved. Capella... Read More University sent me an award that would have covered my past due balance so I could continue my education. I went online and signed the awards. The next day I get a notice showing there was no signature, the past due balance will not be included in the award, and the award is significantly lower. After speaking to a financial aid staff member, I was told that because I was not enrolled during the financial final decision, I cannot be given financial aid for the previous balance (I was enrolled continuously until I was dropped by the school in November). The school refuses to do anything to help. At this point I'll have to drop out of school with only a few months left before graduating.

The good: Excelsior College accepts more transfer credits that almost any other school. They accept over 100 credits of transfer, so you can get a degree with <15 credits from them. That's unheard of. The bad: Their financial aid office is worthless. They promise you huge aid packages, just to cancel it after the disbursement date/final drop deadline passes. Then you're stuck footing the bill for a lot of the money yourself. And no, my external aid sources (fed gov't/Pell) cannot be blamed. Excelsior... Read More miscalculated my aid themselves and promised me double of what they ended up really giving me. Now I owe debt. Classes are painfully boring and a waste of time. The capstone and cornerstone classes are high school busy work, at best. The assignments are petty, pointless non-sense. I suffered taking these mind-numbing, completely useless classes. It's a college degree-- an expensive degree that I suffered through completely pointless classes to get. I learned nothing. No one respects the degree, it's an open-enrollment, zero standards for admission college. You pay, they let you in. But it's a check-the-box-on-a-form degree.
