While I had a few hiccups regarding TPD, I will say the classes are good. The instructor's are knowledgeable, and willing to teach and make sure you know the topic. I am a busy guy so when the time to go to college came around, I was looking online to both save time and money without commuting, room and board, etc. SNHU is a legit school and all but I regret not looking into other online schools and comparing my options. Ever since I enrolled I have honestly been too embarrassed to even tell others that I go to college, primarily because SNHU has a poor reputation to many people. When I've told people that I go here they always say "Oh that school with all the... Read More commercials?" and in general I just can't help but feel that SNHU is not taken seriously by many, hence why I don't even bring it up anymore. . Although I don't 100% think its a diploma mill, so many times it has felt like one since I enrolled. Literally when I was in the admission process I was expecting them to need my high school transcripts or whatever to see if I was even eligible for the school. It was weird when all I did was fill out some application with basic information and like 2 days later I was "accepted". All they needed from me was tuition for my first term, and ever since it has just felt like they want money with all the pointless class materials and crap you got to pay for. Speaking of class materials, the classes generally vary but from the tech related classes I've taken so far, you CAN learn if you put time into it. I was expecting it to feel structured like an in person college but online (lectures, exams, etc), however the professor isn't the one teaching you, its whatever educational software you had to buy an access code for out of pocket. The professors don't feel like they are there at all, their profiles look like google stock images, and in a way it feels like an artificial school. You can literally put no effort in and get a A which is very demotivating when you are paying thousands to learn. By the time the second semester started I was already getting a little demotivated and bored because of the fact it felt like I wasn't striving for anything, so I ended up starting my own business a few months ago. Funny enough it has been going pretty well to the point that I am planning on withdrawing from SNHU soon and putting a hold on college as a whole and focusing on growing my business. Especially with the new Loan Forgiveness program ideally I can get out pretty close to debt free. I am still figuring everything out but if I end up going back to college I will definitely do a lot more research this time around. I have heard many good things about ASU's online program, or I might even just go in person if the time comes.

Honestly, before applying I looked for many reviews but could not find what I was looking for and decided to give it a try. The system of learning is just some writing with activities, which are nice, but the regular discussion posts are just annoying, not helpful and it gets repetitive every week. First you will find them fun but, you will hate it afterwards, no doubt it improves your writing skills. I passed almost everything with 30 min study time 3 times a week with grade A. So, think about it.... Read More Grades are not important here, its what you learn and how it will help you in your future job. There are no exams, yay! but, I am not spending 60,000 on a degree which does not have proper testing practices. I mean think about how employers will look at your degree, even though its valid. So, awesome university with career, finance, and online system, but thats not enough and its not what students want the most. There should be better tutors, live classes with live mentoring and regular video study sessions to keep students motivated. Lastly, exams, both multiple choice and performance based. I completed and passed two courses with easy A grade. Currently, looking for better and cheaper options. Forgot to mention, it is very expensive for what it provides.

Starting off, the admissions staff is fantastic and quick. From time of inquiry, I was in class by the following week. It was by far the most organized admissions department I've ever seen. The professors on the other hand are lackluster. Most of them are part-timers who only feel obligated to do their work for a few hours a week. Read More they're not actually teaching anything. They just input grades spit out by the Cengage grader. They have no idea what's in the content/assignments and just direct you to tech support or your advisor for questions they should be able to help with. Another thing is admissions will lie about the due date requirements for assignments by telling you you work at your own pace throughout the week. That is not true. There are due dates scattered throughout the week for assignments, which really damages the whole "work at your own pace" selling point. The classes are also super quick (8 weeks long), so if you're ok with learning a LOT of information by yourself really quickly then this is a good choice. If you want to learn from an actual professor/watch lectures or ask questions/discuss concepts with your professor.... this isn't the ideal choice.

Knowing is half the battle, and If I had known how little weight this degree carried in the industry for even entry level positions I would have not chosen to spend upwards of 40k on the degree. There needs to be more emphasis on projects and internships/work programs if this is to be considered "to help get careers and to provide with skills employers want". The career tool does little to help because it states you are qualified for positions you will never get with just this degree behind you.... Read More There is no portfolio building or job fair type programs for the online campuses and no stressing of getting in internships in your softmore-senior years, and the curriculum is definitely lacking for areas jobs actually want. I had hopes that having a BCS and AAIT would help get my foot in the door but that has not been the case.

I have had a fantastic experience with CTU, and I would highly recommend it to others. The quality of instruction is outstanding, as the professors are knowledgeable and passionate about teaching.
