Government Corruption Specialists"
Are there specializations within those forensic accounting roles?
"There are many subsets within each of those.

FAQs About Affordable Online Forensic Accounting Degrees
What Is the Cheapest Way to Earn an Online Forensic Accounting Degree?
The cheapest path is choosing the lowest-tuition option ranked by manually collected data (so you know that math is correct). It can be challenging to decode tuition costs, which is why we do it for you in the list above.
Southern New Hampshire University Online is the most affordable option nationally based on our team's research, with annual, in-state tuition of $10,260 for its online accounting bachelor’s with a forensic accounting and fraud examination concentration.
All of that said, we also want to mention that the cheapest route is not just picking the lowest sticker price. You always want to think about how an online program strives to remove some of the common cost barriers students come across. This can be achieved by reading the fine print in the description we include as well as on the program pages we link above.
Do In-State and Out-of-State Students Pay the Same Tuition for Online Forensic Accounting Programs?
While this is certainly not always the case, it is true that online degrees more often cost the same in-state and out-of-state, and for the forensic accounting programs listed above, they all happen to charge the exact same tuition rates for in-state and out-of-state students. This helps simplify cost comparisons and removes residency-based price differences.
How Much Does a Bachelor’s in Forensic Accounting Cost Per Year?
Among the schools we ranked above that host bachelor's degrees in forensic accounting online, the annual tuition ranges from $10,260 to $30,540. Most of the most affordable options fall between roughly $10,000 and $13,500 per year. However, this is just accounting for the tuition. There are often fees and other aspects to factor into your equation. If you want to better understand some of these costs, check out our Guide on How To Save Money in College.
Do Affordable Forensic Accounting Programs Qualify for Federal Financial Aid?
All programs on this page are offered by accredited schools. Because accreditation is a key requirement for federal financial aid eligibility, students (whether online or in-person) enrolled in these forensic accounting programs may qualify for federal aid, depending on individual circumstances.
Are Lower-Cost Forensic Accounting Degrees Still Accredited?
Yes, every single forensic accounting program included in this ranking comes from an accredited online institution, showing that lower tuition does not mean sacrificing institutional accreditation.
If you come across a forensic accounting degree that's incredibly cheap, but it's not from an accredited school, be very wary. Accreditation in forensic accounting directly both cost protection and career viability. Only accredited schools allow students to access federal financial aid, for example, which can significantly reduce out-of-pocket expenses in an already cost-sensitive field.
As a general rule, accreditation illustrates that coursework meets accepted accounting standards on a national quality scale. This stamp of approval is something that employers rely on when hiring for fraud investigation, compliance, and litigation support roles.
Also, from a career standpoint, forensic accounting roles often sit close to regulated pathways like Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credentials, both of which typically require degrees from accredited institutions.
Student Reviews of Online Forensic Accounting Programs
Purdue Global is the best college I have attended in my college career. It has gave me the most flexibility, and I love how I can do everything online. The professors are the nicest individuals I have met, and the people that have met throughout each class have been very helpful. I recommend attending Purdue Global to anyone!

I am very frustrated at the process this school has in place. First I was told that I finished the Forensic accounting program then I was told I had one more class. No one ever answers the phone and you never get a straight answer from anyone. I was told that I owe $750.00 for a class I took. I know for a fact my student loans covered the cost. I have been trying to reach the Financial Aid Advisor for the past two weeks now.
