I would not recommend using SNHU Online to further your studies. As an older individual attending classes, I had a 4.0. That was until one lecturer accused me of utilizing artificial intelligence. My work was "too well-written", which in her mind was a criminal offense. I'm in my forties and can write quite well. She did not even read the paper I produced, which took me three days to complete after extensive editing and revising. My paper was identical to the work I had submitted throughout the semester.... I'm not sure how people are saying that they have so many problems, my experience was great. I did notice the reviews appear to be the same for several colleges here. My advisor was helpful, tracked my progress, worked with me through any issues. Financial Aid did take time, but I got answers every time I contacted them. I was able to get my Bachelor's and they even helped me save money by informing me about Sophia and Study.com which both have classes you can take to expedite the whole process especially with the core classes. I work 60-80 hours a week and I was able to fit this in when I had time. I enjoyed the process and I am happy that I took the leap.

I had a good experience for the most part during my years of attendance at Southern New Hampshire University. Having the ability to complete my BA completely online was the perfect solution for me. The learning environment is mostly independent work, and self teaching, with the support of being able to ask your professor questions as needed. This is perfect for people who can succeed in this type of learning environment, but not great for those who need full instructor led lessons. The class finals... Read More are not test based, but project based, consisting of a main big project that you work on throughout the term, and submit as your final at the end. Some of the assignment instructions and requirements could be difficult to interpret, but most professors were really good about answering any questions and clarifying assignments when needed. Overall, this is a great place to earn a degree.

Do not waste your time going/taking online classes here. The amount of misinformation I received on numerous occasions is mind boggling. I will never recommend this university to anyone. From the beginning, I stated NUMEROUS times that I did not want to use financial aid. I planned to pay in full with or without the grant I received after being pushed to fill out a FAFSA. But now, I am being asked to pay the amount that includes financial aid. Talk about a rip off. I have called and spent many hours... Read More on the phone, each time with a new person in the financial aid department having to re-explain my situation, even though at the beginning of each call they "claim" to record all the calls. Lo and behold, I file a complaint and they didn't listen to a single call - refusing to acknowledge the 100 times I stated I AM PAYING IN FULL AND NOT USING FINANCIAL AID.

If you want to get a degree, and want to actually trust the administration to handle your account correctly (not stress you out each semester) don't use SNHU. I will scream it from the mountain tops. DO NOT USE SNHU. I only went here for two, 8 week semesters, and that was enough. That should speak volumes.

The flexibility is really the only good thing about their program. But at the same time it鈥檚 a double edged sword. The classes are not challenging, they are very repetitive, and I do not feel like it bettered my career.

The worst part however is the customer service. I am in a dispute with debt collector, because I withdrew from a class I did not want to be in and they failed to actually remove me. This resulted in me getting an incomplete F and my federal loan being revoked without any notice. They... Read More keep poor records of phone calls and stated that it鈥檚 my responsibility to record the phone call stating I had withdrawn from the class. Their program is weak, the professors are subpar and the customer service is garbage.

The financial aid department started accepting my award amounts without allowing me to see them first. I had to repeatedly fill out loan reduction forms because they don't allow you to modify them before they accept them on your behalf. They chose your classes for you, which is okay, but my advisor enrolled me in 2 of my electives without consulting me (utterly unrelated to the career path I established with her). I thought they were required because it was inconceivable that they would choose electives... Read More for me. A professor gave me the rudest, most dishonest, and inaccurate feedback I'd ever seen. It was so blatant that I had to look her up, thinking she was an imposter. There were 20ish terrible reviews, most concerning almost the same issue I encountered. The dispute resolution contact was rude, oblivious to the case, and sent me a template denial a few days later. Academic integrity is not a thing here. Over half the DB posts appeared to be pasted from AI chatbots.

My SNHU experience has been nothing but frustrating and disappointing. I was told by my academic advisor for the last year (since April 2024) that this current term is my last term and that I have no additional classes to take. I have this in writing (via emails and program evaluations) numerous times over the last year, and two weeks before the end of this term, my advisor calls me and says "our system messed up. You actually aren't graduating this term and need more classes." Can you imagine mentally... I am most likely not going to finish my degree now because I do not have the funds, time, or energy to take even more classes. I am a Logistics Manager for a large medical company, I have been in the industry for decades and needed to finish my degree to move up, I graduate in June. I wanted something like the degree I would have received in a 5-year program at Northeastern University, and after some research, I chose SNHU. Other schools would have taken my experience and credits and enrolled me in 10 classes to get my bachelor's degree. SNHU did not, and I'll finish this year by taking 30 classes, it鈥檚 been challenging!... Read More I have managed to maintain a 3.9 GPA, and I'll end up with a degree compatible with the degree I started at Northeastern University. The online system at SNHU is consistent and you can see what鈥檚 expected each week, all my classes have been based on 8 weeks and a 1000-point grading structure. My advisor has been awesome! She has helped guide me through my classes and has done a great job of mixing them up, if I had a hard class, I would have an easier class with it.
The one thing about the professors is how strict they will be with citations, it's one of the biggest issues people complain about. I also have had to cite myself in almost all my classes because so much comes out of my head from experience.
Some takeaways from a college experience are: time management, understanding deadlines, and adaptability. Being able to show that you can adjust to different requirements, communicate effectively, and learn are important skills you will need. Companies want people who can problem solve, communicate well, grow, and learn with them, a college degree shows you successfully can do those things.

SNHU overpaid my financial aid, and since then, I鈥檝e been bombarded with harassing emails demanding an 鈥渙verpayment resolution letter.鈥� However, they provide no guidance or explanation for what such a letter should contain. Despite multiple attempts to reach out for clarification, my emails were ignored.

Worse, there's a complete lack of communication between the different... Read More departments at SNHU. The advising department doesn't seem to communicate with the financial aid office, and neither talk to the student financial services team. It feels like you're just a number, not a student who鈥檚 trying to improve their future.

SNHU doesn鈥檛 seem to care about the impact their mistakes have on students, especially when those students are relying on financial aid to better their lives. Instead of offering support, they add unnecessary stress with their lack of oversight and failure to take responsibility.
If you're considering SNHU and value your financial stability or peace of mind, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This school does not prioritize its students' well-being when it comes to financial matters.

It gets you the degree and that's it. The courses are all created by course designers and the instructors solely grade. Instructor quality varies wildly, which is exasperated by the accelerated 10 week semesters. The substance of the assignments is surface level with the foundational line of financial reporting courses being built on 3rd party homework modules that are automatically graded. This is my 3rd degree from and 3rd year at SNHU. I would recommend SNHU over other online colleges, but it is nothing compared to a traditional education.

I like the flexibility of school but I just feel like I鈥檓 turning in assignments on a deadline. I don鈥檛 feel I have taken away anything from my education besides do my work and do well. At the masters level I have often come across students and instructors that are not intellectually ready for coursework at the graduate level. While working on discussion posts and peer edits it is clear than SNHU has very low standards for academic writing and research.

The financial aid process is also ridiculous. I have gotten a refund as late as the 7th week of a term. In addition, SNHU reduces financial aid amounts randomly and requesting that they increase your loan amount is basically impossible.... Read More I requested a grad plus loan. I had a very difficult course that term and I wanted to reduce my work hours to spend more time studying. They refused to allow me to access those additional funds. Despite being approved for them through studentaid.gov.

If you attend this school you must understand that you will have to monitor everything they do financially. Every term you will have to send messages to verify tuition charges etc. The SNHU system doesn鈥檛 even allow me to see my account for this term. So I have no clue if my employer funding or aid has gone through.
