I struggled hard to get into Cole's college. Once in I thought my life would start getting better in terms of figuring out how I was going to survive after graduating but it was a horrible state of affairs. The career services did nothing to help me with getting a job (or even an internship throughout all 4 years of school) other than giving me the basic resume advice. They treat you like a number more than an actual person that wants a career and 7 months after graduating I have yet to land ANY... Read More

The Computer science department at KSU is awful. They have GTAs teaching courses but legally can't list them as the instructor so you have some mystery professor that is never involved with your class. You're taught by GTAs that are rarely understandable and less than helpful when you run into issues. How they expect students with their own course work to be able to be dedicated to an entire class is beyond me. I've had GTAs before but they are literally that... teaching ASSISTANTS. To offer a counterpoint to the 2 reviews here about a poor application/enrollment experience, I applied online and had multiple transcripts sent to (and received by) KSU with no problem, and I was able to track everything easily through KSU's online "Application Status Check" tool in what they call "OWL Express." So far everything about: getting my new-student requirements completed; seeing how my transfer credits were applied; registering for my first semester of classes; meeting with an academic... This is not a good school. They are more worried about farming new students than they are about helping them finish their degree programs or find jobs using said education. I recently graduated, but this school does nothing to really help students before or after graduation with finding a career. They just have a partnership with handshake that lists jobs you would see anyway if you were looking at online job listings. The handshake program is not useful or helpful and it is filled with spam and... Read More

The Education program is excellent. However as far as the financial aid, I always have trouble talking to people and they have been very rude to me when I have questions regarding financial aid. I have been interrupted while trying to speak, spoken to in a condescending tone, and I got transferred back and forth between offices before getting a clear answer to my question. I’m just a student trying to figure out financial aid, but the offices are rude and lazy.

If you are looking at this University to complete an online course of study; I highly recommend you DO NOT register. I TRIED registering online, NEVER went to class did not have confirmation from KSU that I was even enrolled to start class and they charged me $2,000 and now it is on my credit report. I NEVER even got started in their course. LEASE BE CAREFUL when enrolling, make sure you are excepted, they charge you anyway!!! VERY disappointed in the lack of professionalism, and integrity in this... Read More

The Kennesaw State University School of Music is a wonderful place to study music. Not only are the professors 100% invested in your sucess, but are also some of the best performers in the United States and abroad. The student body is also caring and are willing to help you, should you need any assistance. The facilities used, such as the practice rooms are state of the art and are soundproof and the school is an all Steinway and Sons school, and is recgonised by the national associations of schools... Kennesaw is a theory school, nothing more. They'll teach you all about the things you'd need to know to help write your professor's research article, but that's as far as they're concerned. They put more emphasis on research papers and standardized tests than practical training in any capacity. Their policies for enrollment and graduation are convoluted to the point of hilarity, until they block you from graduating because you didn't properly fill out a form. The campus is also huge, and parking... Read More

I found the classes that were required to be interesting and stimulating. Unlike the traditional student, I worked forty hours a week and took the maximum credit hours available so I did not have time for extracurriculars outside of class so I cannot give an opinion on what is offered to the students over at Kennesaw State. Overall my majority of my professors were supportive and some provided my letters of recommendation to get into a Grad program. Classes are larger but seats do fill up rather... Read More

Kennesaw State was an excellent school with great facilities. The class sizes were a lot smaller than those of the bigger state schools, so I really felt like my voice was heard by professors. I studied exercise science and we had some of the newest technology across the country. Also our teachers were really dedicated to finding the newest and most accurate information for the students. They attended a big exercise science conference every year to get the newest info and even encouraged students... Read More

Kennesaw State is a great university that is close to home and affordable. The campuses are nice and the food is great. Parking can kind of be a nightmare depending on when and where your classes are. The Biology department is great and my only complaint is that they need to find a dedicated pre-medical advisor with good resources for pre-medical students. The current advisors are fantastic, but it would be nice to have a pre-medical department. I also think that there needs to be a better and easier... Read More

While KSU was fine in terms of academics, student life, and facility quality, they dont care about students getting jobs at all. Me and many other graduates I know have all been having a very hard time finding jobs with our Communications degrees. No biggie, well just go to career services and have them guide us: except its literally one guy. One human being and like two assistants just do resume edits and mock interviews. Wheres the leads? KSU is an amazing school. They are committed to providing their students with the best education possible and continue to make improvements to push closer to the feel of University. If I were able to attend a traditional classroom setting I would, without a doubt, be completing my graduate studies there as well!!

Kennesaw State is the not a good decision at all for construction majors. The program is ran by a delusional engineer that has no field experience and is out of touch with the industry. Kennesaw is now a R2 research university which is great for other programs but hurts the construction program because now ALL professors employed by KSU MUST have a Doctoral degree. The construction program and students benefit more from professors that have actual WORK experience. There is no one in construction... Read More

Kennesaw State University is an absolutely wonderful value for the cost of tuition. The B.A. in Geography program at KSU provides instruction not only in the human dimension but the physical/technological dimension of Geography as well. The school currently offers one of the only online bachelor's degrees in Geography and does so at a cost per credit hour far below that of the other schools. Still a current student at Kennesaw only because it's the closest school to my job. Kennesaw overall isn't a bad school, but if you're a business major, be prepared to fall behind due to there not being many classes available. For the 3rd semester in a row, classes are having to be added because they don't have enough courses for the amount of students admitted into Coles. I had to take my Business Statistics (which is a hard course itself) at 7am. Not a problem except they ran out of parking spaces... Read More

Originally I was excited about attending KSU when I got accepted. I was overwhelmed and drank that Black and Gold kool-aid. After a while I found some aspects of my education, some teachers, financial aid, admissions staff and other departments not as competent. Kennesaw State University is growing. It hosts 30,000 students with parking spaces for 10,000. The school is what you make of it. Most of the professors are seasoned intellectuals that care about their students. However, student cohesion and competition are the driving forces of success at KSU. If you intend to keep a distance between yourself and your university or your personal goals and your academic goals, you will likely struggle. KSU, though, has a way of engaging its students. I really enjoyed my time in the program. It is a fairly new program and is still growing. The faculty members were great to work with, the classroom atmosphere was professional yet fun, and the camaraderie among students was excellent. The class size ranged from 9-20 students, which made the lectures very intimate. You get the most out of the program if you take advantage of the lab as much as possible. Doing this helps you facilitate what is being discussed during lectures, plus it helps you get... Read More

Overemphasis on cohort learning is more about keeping students busy and does not add much value to actual student learning. There are some professors who are great teachers and others who are not great at transmitting knowledge and skills to students but this is to be expected in any program. The academic advising was very poor. In hindsight it probably would have been worth choosing a program with higher tuition but with better quality instruction and more support with academic advising.
