I have had a great experience at UOP. The only thing I would like to change is being able to double up on my classes. As sometimes I am available to do more. It would of helped me out on getting done sooner rather than later. The only other downfall I encountered was when HR or someone would call me, I would always get a different person. My experience in the University of Phoenix DBA program has been excellent, and I鈥檇 give it 5/5. The biggest reason is communication鈥擨鈥檝e felt supported and informed throughout the process. Doctoral programs can be overwhelming when instructions are vague or support is hard to reach, but that hasn鈥檛 been my experience here.

I have been satisfied with the rigor and relevance of the general education and elective courses in the program. However, upon entering the dissertation phase, my experience has been significantly different and disappointing. Throughout the program, I have performed well academically. When I began my first dissertation course, I understood this phase to be structured in a way that would guide students through the dissertation writing process by providing formative feedback on assignments to support... Instead, I was surprised to find that each assignment was graded using the standard grading scale. While I did receive feedback, it was provided after grades had already been assigned, leaving limited opportunity to apply revisions in a meaningful way. One of the primary reasons I chose the University of Phoenix was because I do not consider myself a strong writer, and I was drawn to the program鈥檚 structured approach, which I believed would offer substantial guidance throughout the writing process. Unfortunately, that expectation has not been met.
Additionally, I did not receive feedback from my assigned University Research Methodologist (URM) due to ongoing technical difficulties with Microsoft Teams. As a result, I feel I did not receive the level of support necessary to be successful in the course. I am now faced with the expectation of retaking and paying for the course again. Given these circumstances, I have decided to take time off from the program after completing my current elective course.

I decided last year that I wanted to go back to school and it鈥檚 been the best decision I've ever made. I love the University of Phoenix, I鈥檝e never experienced anything like it.
