I enrolled in the Doctoral program three weeks ago I am very unhappy with the overall program and experience I had with my professor. I was asking for clarity for an Annotated Bibliography my professor was no help. I used AI as a guide to help me I received an email from my professor stating he was reporting me for plagiarism. To the academic board. So, I reported myself and sent the paper to them. I felt he could have emailed and say do this over this is your warning.

The administrative staff at Liberty University were polite and professional in my experience. However, once I actually started my first doctoral-level course, the reality was very different.
I ended up withdrawing from all but one course, following Liberty’s own policies that allow drops before the start date or during the drop/add period without penalty. The reason I kept just one class was to see if it might improve—but it did not. The educational value felt very low, and there was almost no actual... Read More
I originally chose Liberty because of its ability to process complicated outside educational funding, its broad program options, and the appeal of its Christian identity. Those factors made it seem like a good fit. Unfortunately, my experience with this one doctoral course has completely soured my view of Liberty at the graduate level. I will not pursue another graduate program here. At best, I might consider an undergraduate language program just to use up my educational funding, but I will not return for graduate study.
In my opinion, the overall quality of higher education in the U.S. is inconsistent, and Liberty’s graduate-level program reflects that larger problem.

The administrative people were/are nice and professional with me.
However, once I enrolled and took my first class, it was a different ball game.
I immediately dropped all current and future courses at Liberty without penalty either prior to the start date or during drop/add week following their policies without penalty.
I dropped all courses except for one due to how low the educational value was for me.
There has been no real "teaching". For me, the doctoral level class and associated department has... Read More
I have outside educational funding with a deadline that basically pigeon holed me into Liberty University as they were/are one of the few schools with numerous program options, ability and willingness to process complicated education funding. The "Christian University" aspect also appealed to me.
The whole experience with this one course has been poor. I am learning from this experience that graduate level education is something that I will never choose to pursue at Liberty University again.
I may opt for an undergraduate language training program just to use up my educational funding after this current "graduate" level doctoral class is over with. However, my opinion of Liberty University is now permanently soured.
I would also like to note that higher education in general is a bit of a low quality mess in much of America.

I’m in the MBA online. My professors claimed that I needed help with my writing. I went through their tutors, still got points deducted, and got a C and more than one classes.(which affected my financial aid)I did appeals, a waste of time and money. I will not be continuing my studies at the university.

The only gratifying part was asking to be removed from the mailing list. My diploma was damaged when I received it in the mail. They wanted $100 for a second one when I already paid a $200 fee to graduate from an online school. It’s a waste of $, run

As with any life experience, it is what you make it. If you commit and apply yourself, it can be great. After graduating, I was able to find an internship very easily because the agency recognized and valued Liberty University graduates. Liberty’s program prepared me for the challenges I’d face fresh out of the program and to pass the state exam.
I worked construction for 30 years prior to going to Liberty University, and now, three years after graduation, I am a licensed mental health counselor,... Read More

Initially, the school was amazing when I started in 2020. I felt really supported, engaged, and learn a lot. Upon completion of that degree, I decided to pursue my MBA. The first few semesters were great. About a few months into the program, I started having problems with professors. Many times, they would not help, only deduct points for vague things such as formatting or spelling errors, which in both cases was not true. It continuously got worse to the point that almost every class I was fighting... Read More

I chose Liberty University Online for my Master's degree in education. At the time, I was looking for an online program due to the pandemic and my own work needs. Liberty advertised a Master's degree that was ideal for working adults and for people who were new to the teaching/education profession. While I had great professors and advisors, the fact remained that the program is obviously geared towards individuals who are already in the profession. In particular, the courses on tests/measurements... Read More

I am so disappointed with this school and its online instructors. There is nothing new about this course, but APA and elitist writing style, which I think is a waste of time. I am just finishing this summer's courses because I paid 3 grand for useless courses. It was a waste of time and money. I felt like I made a stupid decision and lost about 6 grand paying for 4 courses that weren't worth anything. Do not go to this school!!!

Liberty takes students for granted and has routinely gotten relaxed about refunding money and processing disbursements. The professors do not follow a set rubic and grade dependent on feelings rather than syllabus and content of work. I do not recommend Liberty University and nor will I finish my degree here.

I am currently in BMAL 888, with the Research Proposal defense scheduled for tomorrow morning. This has been a great deal of work, academically rigorous, and very time-consuming. The research Chair and Methodologist seem to be sadists as they seem to zero in on every mistake, inconsistency, or variation from the template, such as APA 7 headings placement/format. However, the Chair and Methodologist also consistently guide me on what areas of the proposal (so far) I need to correct. The ADRP guide... Read More
I saw one person say they were in the same DRP course several times. I understand your frustration. You can ask for another Chair or methodologist, as the ones you have may not be a good fit for your project/style of feedback needs. Luckily, I understand what these two expect and have progressed quickly. I spend an inordinate amount of time in my home office reading articles, writing notes, looking up references, and typing this research proposal. I am currently at 191 pages without references or appendices.
I can tell you that any doctoral degree is worth more than not having one. Many will hate a Christian University simply because of its religious foundation, or think that an online degree is not worth the paper it is printed on compared to a brick-and-mortar university. I would challenge you to visit Lynchburg, VA, and see the actual brick-and-mortar campus for Liberty. American Military University is also a demanding school, even though it is online. It is harder to attain a degree online as you do not get any face time with your professor, no live interaction with other students, and you have to work on your education after work and the kids are asleep.

This University is just great! In my view, a prestige institution and factually fully accredited and recognized internationally. My Bachelor's and Master's degrees are from German universities and I have to say that Liberty University was much more organized and flexible. I completed my degree while working full time and the online sessions were just amazing for that. However, one must put a lot of work and time into obtaining a degree as this is a legit university with high requirements. All professors... Read More

Don’t waste your time. Constantly changing requirements, disinterested/uninformed research chairs, feedback that contradicts itself. Better off elsewhere.

I have completed the coursework for the Liberty University's Doctorate of Strategic Leadership program and am 8 months into my dissertation. To be clear, DO NOT ENROLL IN THIS PROGRAM. They do nothing to make you feel like an important student, and I find the online portion of Liberty University to be insignificant in its values. Not recommended. How can there be apathy in online universities like this one? Liberty University especially doesn't care if you are an extraordinary student, if you show interest, etc. The fact is that when you ask for something fundamental, like the result of the evaluation of accepted transfer credits, which is obviously of interest to the student,... This is not a review on the campus learning, but specifically with the online education. If you're just looking for a quick upgraded degree to further an already established career, then Liberty online is great. But if you're returning after a long period away from school, or you're trying to go in a different direction from your B.A., LUOnline - or any 8 week, Online course -is not a good idea, especially if your desire is to LEARN your subject, not merely pass the requirements of the course.

But for the Christian who is working towards a firm, reliable and applicable foundation of faith to build on, accept that 8 week classes may not be enough, and in the case of Liberty University's Online program, when you finish, you leave with the paper, and the feeling that you have been undernourished in what you were hoping to be fed on - God's Word.
In the meantime, I've decided that I'll complete the courses I'm taking now, drop the courses I planned for the second half of the fall term, and concentrate on clearing my mind of the courses taken here. I'll be moving on to Midwestern Theological Seminary in the Spring, and looking forward to the real education I was looking for when I started at LUOnline.

I truly didn't expect 8 week classes to be a breeze, but after watching the Liberty University commercials where the mother dropped off her three kids, went to work, picked up the kids, went shopping, and made dinner just as the husband was coming through the door, and then seeing her sit on the porch with her Liberty t-shirt on, SMILING at her laptop, I figured, "Okay.
