An online bachelor's degree in accounting looks at various components of money management, auditing, and accounting principles. Students will be tasked with understanding financial risk, tax law, and bookkeeping — among other accounting principles. Some degrees offer concentrations in specific areas of accounting, such as forensic accounting, where students learn to monitor and analyze illegal financial activity.
Accounting degrees can also be accelerated, allowing for a quicker graduation time. This often includes condensed courses, a higher credit-transfer rate, or dual degrees that fit into one curriculum. The online accounting degrees found below can all be taken at an accelerated pace.

Student Reviews of Online Accounting Programs
I like the teachers and get a lot out of the discussions and homework. The only issue i am having is I have emailed my academic advisor and ahe never got back to me which is very frustrating. My last class cre.ative thinking was very good. The teacher was involved every step of the way

At 54 years old, I never imagined I’d be going back to school to earn my degree, but here I am! After exploring different options, I found that the University of Phoenix's structure isn’t just genius, but is exactly what I needed. The structure is designed to support your success every step of the way. The five week, one class at a time approach has truly made it easier for me to focus and stay on track. Every instructor I’ve had has been helpful, knowledgeable, and engaging, making my experience... Read More

As a single mom, finding a school that fits my unique needs has been a challenge—until I found this one. From the moment I enrolled, I felt supported, understood, and encouraged. The staff has always gone above and beyond to help me navigate everything from class scheduling to financial aid. They truly understand that students come from all walks of life, and they work hard to accommodate those of us balancing parenting, work, and school.
The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and flexible. They’re... Read More

As a current student pursuing my Bachelor’s in Accounting through the University of Phoenix, I can confidently say this program has exceeded my expectations. The flexibility of the online platform has been a game-changer for balancing my education, family, and real estate career. The instructors are knowledgeable and incredibly supportive — they don’t just grade your work, they engage with it.
What really stands out is how practical the coursework is. I’ve already been able to apply what I’m learning... Read More

I called to ask about switching majors when I was 72 credits in (all were for general education) and they said I would be able to keep all of my credits if I switched and it would not affect me. They then switched my major. A month later they removed all of the credits I had earned online and put me back to 60 credits. Waste of time and money. Will be switching to another online program. If you want to go here make sure you do not try to change your major program no matter what your success coach... Read More

The classes are great, instructors are decent, but the tuition fees are big and the stipends you receive are small. I delt with psychology courses that cost more and I had a bigger stipend to help me with financial obligations at home while attending school. They could lower some fees or lower technology fees something that helps a student financial while attending . So I wouldn't recommend them if you are looking for a school to help you maintain home while earning a degree.

Strayer University was the first college to contact me when I came out of rehab in 2022. I needed something to be proud of for myself since I had just gone through one of the lowest points of my life, followed immediately by the best choice of my life--checking into a mental hospital and then choosing inhouse rehab. I had been out of school for 29 years when I decided to enroll at Strayer. I had wanted to pursue a degree in psychology but Strayer does not off any degrees in psychology, therefore... Read More

The professors were amazing. Within the first few months after starting my program, I had a family tragedy. My son was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor and almost died. Four months later, he was diagnosed with a deadly illness called Lamer's Syndrome. Even through these tradgies, my professors and success coaches kept me going. The enviornment is excellent for busy students. The course work was easy to follow. I had all the support and resources that I needed. Since completing my degree, I have now... Read More

I would like to share my experience with Colorado Technical University as I approach my graduation in two months with a bachelor's degree in Accounting. My time at this institution has been incredibly fulfilling. Each online course I have taken has effectively prepared me for success. The classes were straightforward, and the instructors were approachable and always willing to assist. Additionally, I received regular check-ins from my advisor, student success coach, professors, and financial aid... Read More

The experience provided by Purdue.Global allowed me to achieve my degree promptly with relevant materials and instruction. One possible area of improvement lies in the seminar approach which should provide more interactive or hands on opportunities.

I started by bachelor's degree at Purdue University's main campus back in 1998. When I decided to finish my degree, Purdue University Global was the perfect fit for me. All of my previous credits, that I had accumulated over two years, transferred. Which left only two years to complete my degree. I enjoyed the virtual atmosphere. Since I work full time and have a family and house to take care of, flexibility was a necessity. I have been inducted into seven honor societies during my two years here.... Read More

Felt good about the quality and level of difficulty that I experienced for each course. Yes, they have good instructors and a few bad instructors as well. However, the hood by far out weighs the bad. I am going back for my Masters degree in Accounting for this fall. This school is not a diploma mill. Online is tougher because you have to be willing to put in the work, but you still have to meet the deadlines just like you would if you were in a face to face course.

This school has zero communication. I am an older student who decided to go back to college. This will be third college I have attended and it’s also one of the worst. It doesn’t matter how many times you call or email someone from any department, you will be lucky to receive a response. Most things are time sensitive, so it really screws you over. Professors have leeway to call a number grade any letter grade they see fit, and there is no recourse because apparently this is okay and is allowed.... Read More

DeVry University has challenged me to excel in the class. My success depends on how much effort I put into my studies; I am consistent with my study habit. Our professors are mostly experts in the field and very knowledgeable, but not only that, they are helpful. DeVry has given me the chance to enjoy learning and apply it in the real world. I will finally receive my diploma and am in the process of applying for their MSA. Thank you, DeVry University!

Purdue Global provided an excellent learning environment. The professors provided excellent instruction and were all readily available to provide instructions and feedback. As a father that works full time, I have made multiple attempts to complete my degree. Purdue provided the resources and structure which finally allowed me to complete my goal.

I was in the UW Flex program, and it seemed perfect until I found out you can basically not do any work, and just donate to the right professor for an easy A. No thanks, unlike some of my classmates, I am proud I finished with old fashioned hard work.

I enjoyed working online for my degree. I enjoyed it so much I have returned to complete my Master's Degree in Human Resources. I found easy to use the Blackboard and the online library. I originally went to the local campus to pick up books, however; I found the e-books much easier since I was not always able to make it to campus.
