I'll start this review by explaining that I am Active Duty military and all of my classes my be approved in AFVEC and funded by tuition assistance through the base education office. Regent University is not my first school, I completed three years of consistent, online education and had none of the issues that I am about to blame on Regent. I changed degree paths and schools to Regent university in Feb/March 2022 (theological and Biblical studies).My previous online university did not once give me an issue over a span of five years. I cannot explain the amount of stress that Regent puts on a person that is active duty, there is nothing simple about being active duty and getting classes approved and paid for at Regent. 1st - Regent only has two military advisors....at all. Most recently, I sent multiple emails and I spent more than 4 hours on hold attempting to get in touch with anyone to help me with billing and registration issues. Finally I called the general support number and told them about my experience and they assured me that they had sent the military advising dept. an email and that they would call me at specified time, I never received a call or a response to the emails; I did however receive an email from Regent stating they are dropping me from classes for failure to pay; pay for classes I haven't even taken. More explanation in the next point. 2nd - Regent expects you to pay $1400 a quarter to be an online student, even if you don't take any classes. They sent me the email I referenced above; the email states that I haven't paid my $1,400 a semester so they are dropping me...I haven't been able to register for a class due to Regent's inability to keep up with their students and their failure to reach back out to me. Tuition assistance does not pay by semester but by class. Every single tuition assistance request I sent to Regent I also had to send them proof that I am still active duty. Tuition assistance does not cover the cost of one class at Regent. I owe money for each class that I take and I must pay out of pocket. They say that you get book vouchers to make up for this, but, the online book store marks up books by over 100% in some cases, the only way to afford the books on the "book voucher" is to buy an access code to them in an online library. So you are forced to purchase an e-version of the book. 3rd - I had transcripts sent to Regent in March of 2022, its now October of 2022 and my student records have no been updated. Base Education has informed me that due to Regent not updating my transcript, they will no longer approve tuition assistance for Regent university. So not only is Regent saying they will drop me for non payment by base education (tuition assistance), base education states they will not approve any classes at Regent until they update my transcripts. Catch 22?! I have called relentlessly, I have emailed persistently and waited patiently and Regent has been the absolute worst experience of any school I've attended in my adult life. The curriculum is not bad, the instructors I had the pleasure of studying under are amazing but I will never recommend anyone using tuition assistance, or transferring from another school attend Regent.

Recieving my Bachelor's from Colorado Christian University was one of the best decisions I ever made. Before attending CCU, I had been a student at two other universities (that I really didn't feel very connected to) under several different majors. When I finally decided to pursue my degree in Biblical Studies, my first choice was CCU due to their amazing attendance options (in-seat, online, hybrid, etc.), incredibly affordable tuition model, and really focused semester-block system. Everyone from... Read More my entrance councelor to my student advisor was wonderfully helpful and supportive in getting me registered, enrolled, and connected with student aid. Once I was in my degree program, I found an incredible community. All of my professors were knowledgable, caring, passionate people who truly knew their fields and focuses, and believed in pushing the students to go deeper. They were quick to respond to questions, eager to explain the material, and understanding when life circumstances made school more challenging to keep up with. The students were equally as kind and insightful, and the community between all of us was truly a wonderful experience. As a fully online student, I always felt connected to and part of the school; which is not a statement I could honestly make of any of the other institutions I attended. Once I had graduated, I found employment very quickly and have felt very comfortable in how my schooling prepared me to keep pace with those older and more experienced than me. I honestly never thought I'd be the type of person to gush over my alma mater, but CCU is a school that's honestly worthy of it.

I attended CCU and received my Bachelor's Degree. I am now at the same school and pursuing my Master's Degree. Going to CCU is easily one of the best decisions I have ever made. I attended, and continue to, online. You do need to be self-motivated to be an online student. If you follow through with the assignments you will be fine. I graduated Summa Cum Laude because of this. Every professor that I had did everything they could to provide the best experience. I have no bad experiences with any professor.... Read More The classes take place at a quick pace so you have to keep up with readings and assignments. I did notice that a lot of people have complained about receiving a financial aid refund. If you are on probation it will take 6 weeks to receive a refund. This happens when you first begin the school, or if you are on academic probation. However, if you are not on probation you will receive any refund in four weeks.

Grace Christian University is the utter epitome of mixed bags. Some professors are fantastic while others are lazy and unintentional. Some classes I will never forget taking while others I can't believe cost me thousands of dollars. Also a shame to see the general student body treated as pathetic toddlers - I cannot take any of their events seriously. The shine's worn off the penny. I am staying around purely because the allure of a future degree has given me opportunities I would otherwise lack.... Read More That should say enough.

Their teaching system was good, but their grading system was stricter than average, which effected GPA (Example: To get an A grading, you needed 93.) There are cameras everywhere and the curfew is 11:30 pm. It's a helicopter parent's dream place. There were some slavery apologists and very misogynists ideas taught on campus within the teacher and student circles. I'm 75% sure my Western Civ professor was a nationalist. Oh yeah, and they publicly kicked out a student last year just for being transgender.... Read More Yikes. Go here if you want to marry before the age of 22 and love saying the words "Love the sinner, not the sin" to make yourself feel better.

Great Lakes Christian College is an excellent resource for learning within the Church of Christ/Christian Churches. Much of the staff is highly specialized in their respective courses, most holding Doctorate degrees. And while they may be learned, they certainly do not have the air around them of superiority that one may expect to find. In fact, many times they openly admit their ignorance before the class, only to research the question and discuss it next session. The non-teaching faculty is friendly... Read More and courteous. I never had much trouble with critical documents being sent out or information communicated. The business office many times did much of the legwork for the students and were able to speed along the scholarship and grant processes. If a mistake was made, they were humble about it would work diligently to correct it. Great Lakes Christian College does have on-campus housing for all students. While the dorms are quite dated, they are equipped with all the essentials and some luxuries. The community of those living on campus can sometimes be a mixed bag of those there only for sports and those fo the education, but there is hardly ever any fighting or quarrels. If a problem should arise, it is handled swiftly, graciously, and fairly for all parties. Overall, I am delighted with my time at Great Lakes Christian College. I learned much about the Bible, and how to convey it to others, as well as other liberal arts subjects. Now going into graduate work, I am certain that not only has my education here been beneficial to myself and future schooling, but to the congregation I now work in as well.

The education I received at the Master's University is truly priceless. The professors in every department are devoted Christians who desire for their students to grow in their relationship with the Lord over their academic success. This is shown in their pursuit of their students in the classroom and outside the classroom. I never imagined going to college and having professors praying specifically for me before class starts, and devoting their time to have lunch with me in the cafeteria. Inside... Read More the classroom the professors display an exalted understand of who God is and how His word applies to their discipline. God's Word is always incorporated in to every lecture and assignment. The classes will cause you to grow in your understanding of the subject and challenge you in your academic pursuits. The Master's University offers many classes that appeal to the interest of every student including a class on the biblical book of Isaiah all the way to Paleontology. The student life at TMU is one that is unique! The undergraduate population is approximately 1,000 students. Nearly 20% of the student population includes international students! The activities put on by student life include intramural sports, student body events such as fall thing and spring party, attending sporting events and receiving free T-shirts, and more! In addition, the dorm staff do an excellent job at pursing the students and their spiritual well-being. One of the greatest aspects of student life is that the college purchases Disneyland tickets for each student desiring to go and subsides the price greatly. This is the best day of the whole school year! All your friends, professors, and faculty go to Disneyland on the same day and it is a blast! Not to mention we all ride the Jungle Cruise ride at the same time and set records for the number of boats we fill. My favorite aspect of TMU the IBEX program they offer. IBEX stands for Israel Bible EXtension in which 32 students apply to spend a semester studying in the Holy Land! I participated in this program in the spring of 2016. Personally, IBEX changed my life in more ways than I can describe. The IBEX campus is located in the Judean Hill Country of Israel right next to Kiryat Jearim (2 Samuel 6) and a 20 minute drive to Jerusalem! Your time in Israel will be spent traveling all around the land including famous places such as Jerusalem, the Sea of Galilee, Mediterranean Sea, Dead Sea, Masada, snorkeling in the Red Sea, Jericho, and more! In addition to traveling the country you will have the opportunity to take up to 16 units of classes all about the Bible! This program is three months long and the cost is the same as what you would pay to attend TMU for one semester in the States. Another study abroad program offered is a two week trip to Turkey and Greece. I took this trip recently and I loved it! The trip is a New Testament based trip in which you will visit the seven churches of the book of Revelation, many of the places Paul visited on his missionary journeys, and even a few historical sites! The Turkey-Greece trip is offered every other year during the Christmas break. This trip can be taken for academic credit and/or leisure. One of the perks about this trip is that it is lead by a different Bible professor every time! The Master's University is also adding a new travel abroad program this summer (2017) to Italy! This six week long trip aims to provide a biblical approach to history grounded in European Renaissance and Reformation. Those who attend will live in Florence! Lastly, the location of TMU is one of it's greatest selling points. The campus is located 20 minutes north of Los Angeles, one hour east of almost every beach, and in a secluded canyon of Santa Clarita. It is a great spot to stay outside of the hustle and bustle of L.A. life, but close enough to peak all your interests!

Abilene Christian University is an amazing university for pursuing higher education from a Christian institution. The faculty and staff truly care about and love every student that they come into contact with. They care about mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health in addition to academic growth. ACU is a liberal arts school that is passionate about social justice issues in addition to Kingdom justice. The education received and the relationships that are made at ACU are far worth the financial cost and living in a smaller west Texas town.
