Suvrangsou Das Explains What International Business Students Must Master

Headshot of Suvrangsou Das

Global PR Strategist & CEO

Suvrangsou Das is a global PR strategist and CEO of EasyPR LLC, specializing in international branding, blockchain innovation, and emerging market communications. He has experience consulting on more than 15 blockchain projects and leading media campaigns across 100+ countries.

With rapid globalization, what emerging trends should students be prepared to engage with during their degree?

"The current globalization is influenced largely by technology which links markets within seconds. Students joining international business have to be ready to adopt Web3 where the blockchain will alter the way contracts and transactions, even identities are authenticated across boundaries.

Having consulted on more than 15 blockchain projects since 2017, I have observed how decentralized platforms have cost business transactions worldwide as much as $50 to less than $2, and this cannot be avoided in trade systems in the future.

The other aspect is AI in communications and reputation management. The global brands are currently relying on AI-powered sentiment monitoring tools which are used to monitor sentiment in over 100 countries and in real-time in 100+ languages.

It implies that the international business graduates will be required to be proficient in not only classical strategy, but also with the management of the narratives that are influenced by AI knowledge. The adapters will be ahead since cross-border e-commerce, sustainability expectations and geopolitics are now requiring quicker and more specific responses than ever before."

FAQs About an Online International Business Degree

What Is an Online Bachelor’s Degree in International Business?

An online international business degree offers a comprehensive understanding of global markets, trade, finance, and cross-cultural communication. This program equips students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for success in multinational corporations. Flexible online courses allow students to balance personal and professional commitments while preparing for diverse roles in the global economy.

There is an an increased demand for business professionals who understand international markets and the nuances of the business environment in other countries. An online bachelor’s degree in international business can be the first step toward a successful career in one of many industries that span the globe.

If you're interested in launching your career in global business by earning an internationally focused bachelor's degree, you'll find a wide range of opportunities to study on campus or online. Although international markets can be complex, bachelor's degree programs are designed to give you the knowledge and skills you need to thrive in this fascinating, competitive field. Courses offer a strong foundation of business practices and strategies, but always viewed through a global lens.

You'll also have the choice between earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree or a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, which could influence the program you select. In general, BA programs typically include a few more arts and humanities courses, such as history and literature. BS programs, on the other hand, often put a slightly greater emphasis on math and science courses, including calculus and economics.

Admission requirements for international business programs vary by school, but most require a GPA of perhaps 2.5 or higher. When you apply, you'll be asked to provide a copy of your high school transcripts. You may also be required to submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or supervisor and a personal essay. Some of the more competitive schools may require official ACT or SAT scores.

The typical graduation requirements for an online international business degree include a minimum of 120 credit hours. An internship, which may or may not be required, is a great way to gain real-world experience in business before you graduate. Some schools may also require you to complete a study abroad program, which will give you the chance to live and work in another culture.

What Courses Do You Take in an International Business Degree?

In addition to general education courses, an international business program at the bachelor's level will include a selection of required courses and electives. Although international business students need to learn the universal principles and techniques of marketing, they also need to know how to identify, analyze, and assess the effect of marketing campaigns in regional markets.

I have read the positive and negative posts regarding JIU, and used them to make my decision. I was worried at first, but I have had nothing but positive experiences. I am half way through by BBA, with the goal of continuing to the MBA level, and I plan on doing it at JIU. I have had three SSC's and two Financial Aid reps, and only had a problem with one. I was worried that the professors would only look at APA format in deciding the grade, and this has been untrue. I have not only had assignments... Read More

I really don't understand all of the negative reviews on here. After reading through almost all of them, it's funny to see the pattern between the horrible grammar and elementary school-style spelling from their respective authors.

I, for one, have been attending Everest University since May of 2010. I received my Associate's in Marketing in July of 2012 and began the Bachelor's program (International Management) within two weeks of my graduation date. I have been a member of The National Society... Read More

I always felt like I was learning pertinent information and my instructors (all of them) were unbelievably active in the discussions. There was NEVER a time when I could not get in touch with an instructor or a student service representative.

The financial aid office was a hit or miss, but only due certain individuals. I always received my check on time and I spoke to people who offered me all of the information I needed or wanted. My admissions representative was wonderful and all of the instructors were more than accommodating.

So for everyone who's reading this and thinking "OK, what's the catch? How can this person be praising the school when others are detesting it?" the answer is simple - YOU HAVE TO PUT THE WORK IN! This school(like any other) is only a good experience if you make it a good experience.

I don't regret applying to the school because I've had three years so far to dedicate my time and I have received much deserved academic returns from it.

If you're not the type of person who can dedicate a couple of days a week to do work then you're not ready to look into school at all. Otherwise, I would recommend this experience.

I have been attending CTU online on and off since 2004. I stopped and started a couple of times but finally last year I decided to get serious. Excellent experience! I graduated in 2010 and my career took off. I could not have done it without CTU. I found all of the coursework to be relevant, challenging, and interesting. For those of you who rate CTU low, all I can say is that any college or university is what you make of it. If you give 10%, then you get 10%. Likewise, if you give 100% you get 100%. So if you are upset with CTU because they didn't just hand you a degree, then you need to step back and look at you and your performance.... Read More

I really enjoyed my experience at LSUS. With that being said, this is not the place for someone looking for a "traditional" college experience. While there are many opportunities to meet people and become involved with the LSUS community, the focus of the university is mainly academic. I found my classes were a good size (20-30 students) and had reasonable expectations. I am very happy with my experience and am currently working on my MBA through LSUS's online program.

I went to community college a year and transferred my credits to Ashford which helped with my degree and cut down loans. Ashford overall helped me get to my goals with my bachelor's degree and work experience in real estate. I was also able to do my assignments on my laptop and travel around the U.S while being a student and working. I don't regret my decision and prefer the freedom of online learning because... Berkeley College's International Business program is challenging yet exciting. The coursework is turned into comprehensive instruction by the professors on a level that all students can understand. The diversity is incredible, with not just students from all over the country, but from all over the world. Students' ideas are shared, valued, and implemented where applicable. The scheduling is also flexible, allowing for evening classes and summer quarters that students may take advantage of in order... Read More

I am very frustrated with CTU. I started classes in Feb, enrolled in January. I went to 2 prev schools, it is now April. I am still waiting on my transcript evals to come back. I am waiting to the end of my current term, if at that point my account does not reflect my classes I will be de- enrolling in this school. This is taking way too long. Also, no none is on the same page, when I have a question there is about 4 different responeses that I recieve.

Looking back I think the education I received from Humboldt State University was really intricate compared to other universities. The local area attracts instructors from all over the world very distinct perspectives that I feel contribute to a very in-depth education. Especially from an international standpoint, HSU promotes a global focus, a focus you can truly feel even though it is a small university. Studying abroad, I met many people who knew this school and its reputation for sustainability... Read More
