I am currently enrolled in the MS in Clinical Psychology at Capella University. I am glad I chose Capella and feel confident in my studies. Attending class online is not for everyone. It takes an enormous amount of time and dedication. It is hard work but with determination you will meet your goal. I have not had any problems with Walden; faculty, advisors all have been great. I have never written so many papers in my life, but I am learning a great deal about the field of psychology. I have referred friends to online programs and the reason for them not succeeding had nothing to do with the school but everything to do with their work ethic. If you really want it - go for it. Some may have had some bad experiences but it doesn't mean everyone will. I thoroughly enjoy attending Walden. I'm growing, learning and enjoying every moment.

When I came to Capella I knew that I wanted to pursue psychology. I quickly learned that I wanted to pursue neuropsychology after a class I took and Neuroscience. You have to know or have an idea of what it is you want to do in through that passion will evolve or as you will be dependent on the drive to get you through school. I will say this when you attend residencies you may feel that you don't know enough you may feel that it's too hard but believe in yourself because your instructors do and so are the class that you surround yourself with and there is something called fishbowl and I tell you from experience continue anxiety and go in there and when you do the mock roleplay talk to someone as you would talk to them and a therapy session show empathy and show them that you know what you've learned and the biggest thing in Psychology that we can give a client is insight and if you have that and you apply that you will be off to a great start. 

Great school, professors, curriculum, and really came out of this program ready for my internship. I recommend this college to anyone pursuing a Psychology degree while being a working professional! Still you have a lot of competition with other schools in your home state that already has their students reaching out to the same facilities for internship opportunities. I had to drive two and half hours from my home in Myrtle Beach to Columbia South Carolina for six months each week. Luckily I had family that gave me a place to stay. The mental health facilities and private practices seem to be more prevalent in city areas than in rural areas. It took me half a year to find a location as well as hearing 29 no's before getting the yes for the private practice in Columbia, South Carolina. It ended up being one of the best and largest practices in South Carolina so with consistency and tenacity you can and will find the right internship location. They where always helpful from advising, financial aid, and professors where always accessible. The online portal is very sleek and easy to navigate. There are three residencies in this program that are part of classes which will be in your class schedule which is already reenrolled so that you can plan accordingly. The resedencies are all throughout the United States at different locations and they are among the funnest weeks where you learn a lot, challenges in exercises, and get to meet some wonderful lifetime friends!

Any college is what you make of it. If you like sitting in a class room and interacting with others in person, then online isn't for you. Taking classes online means that you have to be self starting and self motivated. I had a great experience with Liberty (aside from one or two professors that graded unnecessarily hard) and I passed my competencies and licensure exams on the first try. This program prides itself on being one of the best in the bay area. It has a low acceptance rate year-to-year and uses this a key selling point, reminding students time and time again, how lucky they are to have been accepted into such a sought-after program. In reality, classes are mostly taught be cohort members via power point presentations, with faculty members most-often, facilitating. Nothing cutting-edge here. Low acceptance rate is largely in part due to the fact that this school is public and the tuition is the cheapest in the immediate area- which makes sense.
