My experience at Ashworth College has been amazing. I needed a college that I could attend that would be affordable, convenient and flexible with my schedule. I work full time so having the ability to work online without being pushed for any deadlines is great. Before Ashworth I attended a local community college in my area for Medical Office Assisting and although my grades were great I was not learning anything. I came across Ashworth College and at first I was a bit skeptical because, there are so many online college scams out there and I didn't want this to be another one. I contacted the school by phone and they answered my promply but, I did not like how they tried to push me into the program by bargaining that I could start with as little as $5 or $10 dollars. I mean come on, give people the opportunity to decide first. But, once I started Ashworth College I was amazed at the content, easy access of the web page and it's design. I like how organized the website is, it looks better than most universities and community colleges websites and it is very easy to navigate. What made me decide to attend Ashworth was the value of the program, Ashworth is nationally accredited and some people have a problem with that because it is not regional but nationally is better than regional in my opinion because, this program is useful in more than just one area or state. I started the Medical Office Assistant program and it's not the certificate that make this prgram have value it is the fact that you can become certified with the NHA and that makes this course worth it. I noticed a lot of people complaining about how long it took their books to ship and I always got my within 5-7 business days without a problem or anything. The books are very up to date with the latest Healthcare information and facts and understandable to read. I have learned more through this program than any community college I could have ever attended. Also, I heard people complaining about how they call the school and it takes to long to get a response. I have never had a problem getting a response no matter if I called or sent an email I was always answered directly or within the next day by email. Ashworth College is an awesome opportunity for anyone who is seeking a higher education but, does not want to be filled with the burden of borrowing a substantial loan just to get a quality education. For me this school was affordable and I was able to make monthly payments without borrowing anything or even needing a grant. And it should be because all you are paying for is the books and website content. I'm so glad that I have had the opportunity to attend this school and will continue back in the near future. I highly recommend this school and I hope that they continue to serve their students with a great quality education at an affordable cost.

This school was the absolute worst. Books were never given to us on time. One of my classes was merged with medical assistants who NEVER received their books for that whole term. Our insurance teacher never actually taught us anything. She just gossiped about other students and talked about her personal life. Most teachers there actually gossiped about other students. I only learned a lot from three out of the 10 or 11 teachers we had. When it came time to take the coding exam three of us got emails... Read More we couldn't take it because the AAPC never received payment from the school. Finally I was able to take the exam, but I can't get my score until the school pays them. They know of this issue and haven't tried contacting me back. I've been called a liar by one of the teachers because of issues I was having at my externship site, and she was no help through any of my problems. Another student reported her and she wanted to get the class in trouble for it. There's so much more I could say about this school but hopefully this was enough to convince anyone to GO ELSEWHERE! One more thing, if your teachers want to find an externship site for you, DONT LET THEM! They trash talked the ladies in career services saying they were not gonna be any help to us, but they were the most helpful!

I started the Medical Billing and Coding in February 2013. I spent around 3 days touring the school and speaking with financial aid as well as admissions. They all seemed to be friendly and gave me all the information I was asking for at that time. Little did I know that the information provide was completely incorrect. They sat with an employee who they stated was a Financial Aid Rep who would help me with my admissions paperwork and aid forms. I provided this man all mine and my daughter鈥檚 personal/financial... Read More information. I was told I would receive 2 different checks for the remaining balance of my aid money, after a few weeks into the program, and one a few weeks before graduating. I let them know that this aid money was crucial to myself starting the program because it would be used to pay the babysitter while I was gone (you are more than able to use the grant money for child care under the rules). I also let them know I would no longer be working, and only attending school for the 9 months. They went as far as helping me FIND a babysitter and providing me numbers. They then let me know starting in June I could file another FAFSA form for the 2012-2014 year because I would still have 5 months of school left, and it would be money sent that I would continue to use instead of the full $9995 loan I took out. After 3 months in the programs I was the front desk about the FAFSA check I was supposed to receive and the continued to tell me to come back. Running low on money I kept asking for about 2 weeks only to find out I would not receive this check until AFTER I graduated. Why the heck would I need a check after I graduate? I was highly disappointed and very unhappy information that was incorrectly given to me considering I let them know in the office without this money I wouldn鈥檛 be able to attend. I had QUIT my job to come to school only to now struggle throughout my classes not knowing if I can find a sitter or not. Stressful! They then informed me the person THEY sat me with was NOT a financial aid rep at all! The only thing I was told was 鈥渨ere sorry, we know that we gave you the wrong information鈥� and that it was an 鈥渆thical鈥� issue that nobody had the power to fix. So they admitted to giving me incorrect information but won鈥檛 fix it. I let them know I needed the money and I wasn鈥檛 sure if I could continue or not because of my 5 month old daughter that didn鈥檛 have a sitter. They told me to let them know asap about dropping so they could calculate how much money they have used for my loan so I could pay it back, and they could get a balance that I would end up OWING the school. What a SCAM! They lie to me continuously to get me through the door, then tell me I would end up owing THEM money?? Can you believe I sat in a class that taught me about ethics, professionalism and KNOWING your job when they couldn鈥檛 even do it? Ridiculous! The 1st month of class work was read straight from power point and some book work. There currently haven鈥檛 been any hands on examples that were promised from the tour given. The 2nd and 4th month was way better. I had an instructor name Dr. Bell that was very informative, and gave us every example that we would ever need for us to understand. The 4rd month attending the class was even prepared and didn鈥檛 have our book (that had already been paid for) until the 2nd week. We then had a weeks鈥� worth of homework and studying to make up for the next 2 days of class. I didn鈥檛 think it was going to happen again until the 5th month, in which I came to class only to find out there were not any books available once again. These books for this month have already been paid for as well!! How can you accurately do any homework or study for WEEKLY tests if you don鈥檛 have a book?? I鈥檓 currently still attending however I wish I was at another school. I checked many other schools that were happy to explain the correct information and accept me but only 2 of the 4 credits would transfer. I obviously don鈥檛 have money to pay again for those other 2 classes so I鈥檓 still at Remington. If you choose to come here please read the SMALL print carefully. Seems like they do anything and everything to get you in here, and then could care less what happens when they get your money.
