Degree: Military Science
Bottom Line Up Front: I finished my MA with AMU in 2015 and had no problem getting into a doctoral program. Yes, I had to take a GRE before being accepted into the doctoral program, but the degree itself counted saving me the pain of an additional 36 hours of course work. While I will not name drop, the school I am currently attending is a Public, Non-Profit University. I know while attending AMU I had concerns about how the degree would be viewed by other universities, to my relief, everything turned... Read More

I was initially concerned about the quality of education from an online for profit university. However, I found the majority of APUS classes to be the equivalent of graduate degree instruction from traditional on-campus universities. I found their instruction regarding research methodology to be superior to equivalent courses I received during an on-campus masters program. I found some of the material dated within the program which could be frustrating at times, but this was to be expected as APUS... Read More

I am an active-duty military member, working on my professional credentials (I graduate this summer). APUS/American Military University has been a lifesaver for working on my masters while managing a challenging full-time career. I have enjoyed access to a diverse set of peers, from other nationalities and other careers. The exposure to law enforcement and political science students has helped me to think outside the box on serious issues, such as the legality of drone killings. Additionally, creative... Read More

Degree: Military Science
American Military University has a plethora of great programs. I am active duty military and I was able to complete courses even with multiple deployments to the Middle East and Africa. All of the instructors are very knowledgeable and flexible with my schedule. This is a great University for Active Duty Military and any other career professionals. I would absolutely recommend this school to everyone interested in pursuing a Graduate Degree.

Degree: Military Science
American Military University is great for people in the military with a full time job. It is a challenging course but accomplishable course. I work from 0600-1800 every day, have a wife and a kid and still find time to complete my degree. The course material is a little out of date but it is still relevant today. I plan to take what I have learned and apply it to a Ph.D.
