For the most part, professors are easy to communicate with via email, but could use a better resource when communicating with students on answering their questions concerning specific assignment questions. The social life for online students is obviously already difficult, but their could be more activities to involve online students within the various groups/clubs/honor programs/etc....to get them involved. American Public University System (APUS) is an accredited online university. APUS has two branches--American Public University (APU) and American Military University (AMU). However, you don't have to be affiliated with the military in order to pursue your degree at AMU, and vice versa. I am completing an MS in Accounting at APU. Read More format forces students to submit assignments and discussions on a weekly basis. All the courses I have taken so far at the graduate level are 8-week courses; I know they also offer a few 16-week courses. I did a lot of research prior to enrolling at APUS; the University has over 100K students enrolled; and the 8-week course format that APUS offers suits me; whereas other online colleges out there have 5-week and 6-week courses. Also, we are not required to complete team-based projects; which is great for me because it gives me control over my own grades. All the graduate courses I have taken so far require at least two research papers, following APA format. Last but not least, the tuition is very affordable; APUS does not spend money unnecessarily on expensive massive marketing, large physical campuses, or football and basketball coaches--since there aren't any. If you are considering attending college online, APUS is the way to go!
