I finished up a bachelors degree at APUS and was, for the most part, very impressed with the quality of the instructors. All that changed when I entered into the Master's in Education program. The instructors are (while possibly holding a advanced degree) not prepared for the classes. Some don't even know how to check if the syllabus is up to date. Many rarely involve themselves in the forums. Assignment grading is slow and (if I could guess) just run through a program to check for plagiarism. In... Read More the beginning, I thought I had just got a bad instructor, but now I realize that it is common. The one instructor that really tried to interact with the class quit working for APUS (we have become acquainted outside of the school). If you want to pay $1000.00 for each class and basically do prepared assignments using outdated material with practically nonexistent instructors, i suggest this is the school to attend.

Pros are that it is easy to access, especially electing to do everything online. The classes are varied and helpful, beneficial to my career plans. The faculty is normally quick to respond to questions and offer help. Cost is also fairly low, which helps with the appeal of the program. Cons of the program is that I often feel that not everybody is on the same page. The weekly instructions do not always match the syllabus instructions to include due dates and specific information about projects. There... Read More are a lot of papers to write for this program, which may be appealing or totally not depending on the student. So far, I have not had any classes with tests, but expect many papers and a lot of research.
