The MPH at APUS is one of the few online that is CEPH accredited and not at a religious institution. The credits are 375 and hour, at 47 credits. The financial aid is always there when I need them, as is advising. The course work is public health and emergency management related, which I paired with my BA in emergency management. The program may not be good for all but for ones like me it works with my family and work schedule. ****Buyer Beware**** The only issues that have come to me is the required internship. The state I am in, and many other employers, would not give me an internship due to not going to a state school. I suggest doing as I did and start looking for an internship about a year before so that you can look at many different options. My adviser, Amber and Professor Ross have been very helpful in this endeavor. Overall, APUS is a fantastic school and education for all. The price is tremendous, as is the CEPH accreditation that is not influenced by religion and dogma. I would tell anyone to go to APUS and plan on letting my children attend at 16 in order to knock out some basic college courses. I have had a great undergrad and graduate experience, minus the internship hassle.

Obtaining my Master's of Public Health degree is an important step in my career. I started looking at APUS because I had friends who were trying to transition from police officer to federal agent and all of them selected APUS because of its strong military ties. The online format helps keep the rest of my life in order while I finish my degree. There are a lot of weekly assignments, probably to make up for the fact that there is no physicial classroom. That being said, the caliber of the professors are just as important as if there were a physicial classroom. I have found APUS offers a diverse selection of teachers in the MPH program, all with advanced degrees. The school offers webinars throughout the year to make sure each student understands the graduation requirements. In order to graduate, I will have to complete a practicum and a thesis. The practicum is basically an internship of my choosing in a public health field and it gives my professors direct proof of how I apply concepts from class. There are many interactive webinars to assist with the process of writing a thesis as well.
