The program I took at Arizona State University ((ASU), focused on Behavioral Health delivery. At the time, it was the only program in the country that offered its unique training, and remains one of the very few. This program trains master's level clinicians from various backgrounds (ie: social work, mental health counseling, family therapy, occupational therapy), to provide mental health services in the fast pace of primary care, efficiently and effectively. All information and coursework was relevant... Read More

Arizona State University is a very large school, and qualities of individual programs will likely vary due to its large size. Speaking for social science research, I appreciate that my tuition is waived, I receive health insurance, and am provided a teaching assistantship with stipend for the school year and summer terms. However, I wish there was more support for career opportunities outside academia. This may be a common complaint in Ph.D. programs, but is notable at ASU.
