ASU's sales pitch of "college for working adults" is absolutely laughable and blatantly false. If you have a fulltime job with any kind of commute you are still required to do the exact amount of work with the same time limits as a student without a job. So exactly "how" does it benefit fulltime adult workers? I'll answer this- It doesn't and it is only a 'bait and switch' to get more funds for the school. If you are 'only' a student living on campus or at your parent's house without a fulltime job... Read More then maybe it can work. Waste of time and money for me.

Arizona State University has a couple of campuses currently, however, I attended the West Campus. Back then it was just the upperclassmen allowed to attend, and today the campus has grown to include all four years. Interdisciplinary Arts and Performance program was a wonderful way to get a taste of the many areas that are media related: sound design, video production, lighting, creating your own installation or full on production. Not only do the teachers teach, they also care, and my graduating class became a family. I'm still in touch with a number of my classmates even ten years later. Your life and memories will be enriched by choosing this campus and program. Just go for it!

The School of Earth and Space Exploration at Arizona State University was amazing. Excellent faculty doing real research in their field are teaching classes and providing opportunities for undergraduates to get experience in the field. The School of Earth and Space Exploration (colloquially called SESE) is participating in many NASA projects and has just been green lighted to head a new NASA project. SESE is inclusive and makes sure that all students can participate - they have something to offer... Read More everyone.

As I am only just beginning my masters program with Arizona State University (ASU) this fall, this review will be based on my experiences as an Undergraduate. ASU was the perfect choice for my higher education. The last four years have been nothing short of amazing for me. I have been able to meet many new people and make numerous new lifetime connections. The faculty and staff at ASU are awesome. It is clear they really love teaching, are passionate about their fields, and genuinely care about each... Read More and every students success. Even in a class of over 200 people, which I have had in some lower division courses, the professors will go out of their way to ensure that every student understands the material and will take extra time to answer questions or hold longer office hour visits. The Academic Advisors are just as amazing. They make it mandatory to visit every student, in person, at least once a year to ensure everything is going well. When I switched majors at the start of my junior year, my advisor took the time to create a detailed plan on what completed classes could be transferred and what I still needed to take. Because of their help, I was still able to graduate on-time with no problems. One of the biggest things that surprised me during my freshman year and the following years after was how culturally diverse ASU is. Students come from every corner of the world just to call ASU home. Not only was I able to better understand and appreciate other people and their cultures more, but I was able to learn a great deal about myself as well. Most of my classes were in-person lecture format, but I also took several online classes. ASU has mastered the function of both formats and the professors do a wonderful job of teaching the material, even in the online setting. Perhaps the biggest take away from attending ASU has been their ability to prepare students for the future. Several career fairs and workshops are held throughout the year where students have the opportunity to meet with local, national, and globall organizations to make connections and build relationships. My senior capstone class covered topics such as resume building, reference letter writing, and of course a large research project, experiences which will no doubt prove useful in the years to come. I was fortunate enough to have a full time job in my field lined up before graduation and I know its because of ASU's many resources this was possible. I commonly hear people say, "It is so easy to get into ASU", or "ASU accepts anyone, even without a pulse". Although some of these statements may be true, I don't believe it hinders the overall quality of education. ASU simply wants to give every student the opportunity to receive a higher education, but they are still going to have to work for it. I am extremely satisfied with my overall experiences as an undergrad at ASU which I why I have decided to also attend graduate school here; I can't wait to see where it takes me.
