Quality of Academics: The course materials are full of errors. While some professors are very proactive to correct them, some just ignore you. The material themselves are fairly useful and could be very beneficial to you if you get a good professor. However, if you get a "visiting professor" (most professors teaching the online classes are visiting), they don't care about you at all. I got 99.5% in one class and my answers were model answers for others. Yet another professor who didn't provide any rubrics for the assignments took points left and right without any feedback -- how am I going to learn if I don't know why I am wrong? Quality of my degree program: For the online MLS program, if you think reusing slides and videos from 10 years ago NOT even prepared by your instructor is good, then this school is for you. Again, the slides and the quizzes are full of mistakes and some professors wouldn't even correct them. The admins are absolutely useless. They are here to "support" you but if you bring issues to their attention, they just reply "we leave how to run the classes to the professors". Well great. Thank you for asking me for $40K a year and give me absolutely nothing back. Here's one thing I learned from the class that may apply to this situation: "Do you think the court would find it fair for me to pay $40k and receive absolutely nothing in return?". How did this program prepare me for my career: Absolutely not helpful.

I was led to this legal studies masters degree via... not making the 3.24 GPA cutoff my first semester of law school. Although I knew that making this 3.24 cutoff was a crap shoot, the masters degree (plan B) curriculum was completely different than what was promised. I learned the same topics the second semester as the first semester, but in less detail. $40k later and I have no actual real world application for any of the subject matter I learned. I cant find a job because no one cares about random... Read More legal studies. Administration is terrible, neglectful, and incompetent when approached for advice or counsel. Ive had far better experiences at community colleges than at ASU grad level college. If I could do it all over again and save the $40k worth of debt, I never would have enrolled at ASU.

Arizona State University is the perfect school for those who want to learn and grow in their careers. I have been taking the Online Masters in Legal Studies courses for the past year. The courses provide a lot of information for those interested in legal studies, and they give just enough of a challenge to make it worth the time and effort. Arizona State University is a great, affordable, and flexible school to attend. I am a graduate student attending the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law. I am working towards a Masters in Legal Studies, and I am very happy with the program. ASU provides online classes to receive an undergraduate and a graduate degree in a variety of fields. My professors are always available to answer my questions, give suggestions and advice, and help me to do well. They are constantly working with me to improve my work, to make sure I understand what I am learning, and to utilize and apply what I learn toward my career. Further, the coursework is rigorous yet rewarding. The professors at ASU are very knowledgeable, and they do everything they can to share their knowledge and to provide coursework that challenges the students. There is a lot of reading to be done, but it is worth it. Most online course require weekly quizzes, assignments, or discussion posts. These things supplement the readings and lectures. My professors often include articles and videos news sources as additional supplements, as well. The coursework is a lot, and it is not to be taken lightly. The very reason for this is so that students can receive high quality education. I can absolutely testify to this. I am extremely pleased with my choice to receive my Master's degree at Arizona State University.
