I enjoyed the variety of professors that taught the classes. They were supportive of all the teachers in the program and offered useful advice that could be applied in the classroom. At times it was difficult to balance teaching and completing a Master's program, but the small cohort and support from the professors helped complete the program successfully. I would recommend this program to people in Teach for America, and teachers who work at a charter school and have not yet received their certification.

ASU has been noted for its innovation. I am proud to have been a student within the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. ASU was very hands on with my learning. Despite being a graduate student, I did not feel alone. I had support from every staff member I reached out to. Working full time as an educator while attending school can be very stressful, but my instructors were accommodating and made sure what I learned, I could take with me into the classroom the next day. I left my classroom feeling inspired... Read More and ready to take on the challenges of my classroom. Unfortunately as you go higher within schooling, you do not see as many minority students. In that space, I did feel pretty alone. I wished there were affinity groups for graduate students, as it seems the connection to campus tends to get lost.

Even though it has been several years since I graduated from Arizona State University, I can still remember the profound effects that my attendance at ASU had on my life. I can remember my first day at ASU. The energy that accompanied the thousands of students making their way to their classes was intoxicating. The art work that was available for sale on a daily basis, I have yet to see out side the University. Everything I needed was right there, at the center of the campus, and my life evolved... Read More around my studies only. I can honestly say that the best moment of my life was when I graduated from ASU. The sense of accomplishment was overwhelming and it was such a gratifying moment . My professors at the College of Education always remain close in my memory and I use something from each and every one of them in my classroom to this day. Every one should have the college experience, especially at Arizona State University.
