I am an alumni of Ball State University ('01; Muncie, IN). I grew up in Muncie, and Ball State was my first choice for college given it was in my home town. The campus is beautiful, and the weather is great! Although it took me some time to figure out what I wanted to be when I "grew up," my instructors at Ball State helped me find my career path and provided me guidance in that direction.

This program is unbelievably bad. Run poorly, constant issues with third party platforms, advisors do absolutely nothing to help. I had to withdraw from a class because their Shadow Health system didn’t work for the first four weeks of the semester despite spending about five hours on multiple calls with the customer support team. I was forced to withdraw from the course and they refused to give me my money back even though it was their issue. They schedule exams on the same days as clinical competencies,... Read More

Ball State was a fair school, the price was extremely reasonable and felt like I got great value out of my time spent. I wish I would have been challenged further, as connecting my education to my work took me sometime to develop, and is some tbh one I am continuing to develop. But it opened up many doors for and I am grateful for my education.

I attended BSU because I wanted to advance in my field and a supervior I respected recommended the college to me. After research the online program was among the better cost options and was flexible enough to accomodate my work setting and hours. I have since graduated and felt as if completion of my program left me prepared to work in higher positions and sit for my board exams.

Ball state university was a great school for me. I received a large scholarship that covered 90 percent of my tuition and expenses. This alone made it a great option for me and my needs. Ball state has a great campus and was close to my friends and family which made it another great choice. Ball state has a great computer science program and it's even better now with the new department chair.

I had some good experiences at Ball State. Ball State is in my hometown of Muncie Indiana. I had considered going to other colleges that were outside of my hometown. I thought that I might be better off getting out of the city and having experiences away from home. However, I ended up staying in Muncie and going to Ball State. I feel like that was the best decision for me. I got a good education. I met some good friends that I am still friends with to this day.

I don’t believe the degree was helpful in obtaining a career. The instruction did not mirror the requirements of the employment opportunities that I experienced. The administration was HORRIBLE. The on-campus experience was fine, except for parking which is HORRIBLE. The school nickels and dimes you to death. Even something as simple as obtaining a copy of your transcripts for a completed degree that you paid tens of thousands of dollars to get, costs $18, and only the admin can send it on your behalf.... This school is a joke. Starting from advising to the financial aid office. I have had numerous examples and personal experiences with advising, financial aid, and other departments. No one wants to help you, financial aid just wants as much money as possible. They refuse to answer questions, they have put me on hold for 30 minutes and put me on speaker so all of their colleagues can hear our conversations. They have told me numerous inconsistencies with my questions about my money they owe me and... Read More

I really enjoyed my undergraduate program at Ball State University. The professors at Ball State are extremely caring and understanding. These professors want you to excel in your studies. In my time at Ball State, I had so much support from my professors at all times. My professors made learning fun, and they wanted you to enjoy learning. I never wanted to miss a class at Ball State. I was so happy to be there and to hear their stories and how passionate they were to teach us. My experience at Ball... Read More

I would have to say this is a big regret. The FNP program is the worst. The instructors expect you to teach yourself. They act like you should know how document correctly, even though you have never done it. I agree with Renee's post about changes happening in the middle of the semester and not knowing exactly what to do. This school does not understand that most everyone is a working adult. Don't try and get help from the instructors, because that is not going to happen. Don't start this school... Read More

I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a dietetics major at Ball State University. Within the program, I felt as though my classmates and faculty became a family. Faculty were very communicative and answered all questions. They were very supportive and always provided great resources when needed. The NP program provides little to no support and does not provide a positive learning environment. This is my third degree (with a GPA average of 3.98) and I have never experienced such a lack of professionalism by staff and many of the instructors. There is a culture of rudeness in email correspondence. Course instructions and clinical packets are constantly revised and the school does not understand basic document control procedures of revisions to ensure a smooth transition to new procedures,... I enjoyed my academic experience at Ball State University. My professors, academic advisors, and disability support services helped me achieve a high standing and graduate with my degree a year early. The lay-out and accessibility of the campus has been helpful for enhancing my experience. I was surrounded by people who wanted me to succeed. Because of the amazing undergraduate experience I had, I decided to continue my graduate education at the institution.

Ball State University's Telecommunications Video Production program came highly recommended to me, and having been through the program, I certainly extend that recommendation.
