STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY!
1- From the very start, their terrible rude enrollment counselors who would hang up on you for asking basic questions and don't return calls or emails in a timely manner if ever which ended up delaying my enrollment 3 months more than the pre-planned classes start date
2- The staff and even the supervisors of said staff talk the talk but don't and won't walk the walk .. very unprofessional environment all around.
3- low quality of education especially for a graduate program. It... Read More

Capella University is very misleading when it comes to finances. I enrolled in the FlexPath pending FAFSA completion. However, due to taxes, I could not complete FAFSA in time. My advisor said it was no big deal, I would be dropped from my classes and could apply again once my FAFSA was complete. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for thousands of dollars, and for a class I did not participate in! Since I had everything in writing via email and text, I contacted the university, but had no... Read More

Capella's staff is unprofessional, and, in my opinion, unqualified! I will always regret pursuing my degree here! If I could go back and start again, I would! My mental health has suffered greatly since I started at Capella. The academic advisement services are deploarable. This is the biggest regret of my life so far.

Capella is not only unhelpful administration wise, the instructors are barely even involved in the courses in my experience. They completely disappear after putting fear into students about finding a site based learning practicum and internship. Basically, Capella makes the process as confusing as possible then doesn't respond for 2-10 days on email, only to give some kind of vague instruction that means nothing. Then you have to wait 2-10 days longer, all the while they are not flexible in any way... Read More

Capella University is a transformative institution that empowers professionals to pursue their educational dreams while juggling their careers and families. As a healthcare professional who embarked on two master's degree programs with Capella—an MSN in Nursing Education and an MSN in Leadership and Administration—I can attest to the extraordinary experience it offers. Capella's support and flexibility have inspired me to chart my educational path towards an MBA in Healthcare Management and a Doctorate,... Read More

Capella's prestige and credibility are further bolstered by its partnership with New York-Presbyterian Columbia Irving Medical Center (NYPH), one of the most esteemed healthcare institutions in the country. The fact that NYPH offers preceptorships and practice placements for Capella graduates instilled a deep confidence in the programs I was pursuing. The alignment of an institution of NYPH's caliber with Capella speaks volumes about the university's commitment to producing competent, well-prepared professionals ready to impact the healthcare industry significantly.
As I continue pursuing my MBA in Healthcare Management and plan for a Doctorate, I am sure that Capella is setting me up for success in both civilian and professional life. Capella ensures that its graduates are academically prepared and respected in the industry. The flexibility, academic rigor, and unmatched support Capella offers are why I tell my coworkers, family, and friends about the incredible experience I have had here.

This is based on my personal experience.
I also received good feedback from my peers, both civilian and military, so I chose Capella. Everything is about the experience.

After 3 years of going through my doctoral degree, a professor decides not to pass me because of the size of one graph. I have lost sleep and time with my kids for this degree. I have 3 courses left and this professor won't help. He emailed me that he doesn't have time for my feedback. Now 3 years down the drain. Wouldn't recommend this school.

As a Canadian, I chose Capella University for its innovative FlexPath learning, which is competency-based and largely self-directed. This model worked perfectly, allowing me to balance a full-time job right after undergrad. I am deeply thankful for Capella’s flexible format, enabling me to pursue my education alongside my career.

The rigorous program involved extensive reading and writing, which I loved. Capella provided excellent resources that were crucial for my success. It wasn’t easy, but that’s what made the program robust. I graduated with a 4.00 GPA, a testament to the hard work, discipline, and determination required.
The complaints about technology issues or delayed feedback are, in my experience, unfounded. While I occasionally had minor technical hiccups with the Canvas platform, these were minor inconveniences rather than major obstacles. Capella is in the process of improving these systems, and I expect smoother experiences for future students.
The rigorous assessment criteria in FlexPath, requiring proficiency or higher in every competency, ensured a high standard of learning. Unlike traditional models, which allow you to pass with a cumulative score, FlexPath demands excellence in every area. This meticulousness improved my writing and critical thinking skills tremendously.
Capella’s flexibility was a lifesaver, especially when I was promoted. Traditional schools might have discouraged pursuing graduate studies alongside a demanding job, but Capella allowed me to adjust my assessment dates accordingly.
As a Gen Z student, I appreciated Capella’s modern approach to education. I don't like being micromanaged and I thrive in environments that value independence and self-motivation. The practical, real-life assessments were invaluable, including presentations, papers, and statistical analyses. The meticulous feedback on every detail, from formatting to colloquialism, prepared me for real-world expectations.
Regarding tuition, Capella is transparent and has no hidden fees. The subscription model is straightforward and objective, reflecting a modern approach to education financing. Those complaining about billing likely haven’t paid close attention to the clearly stated policies and procedures.
Overall, Capella University is an excellent choice for self-motivated, disciplined learners. The FlexPath model is the future of education, offering a rigorous, flexible, and rewarding learning experience for anyone around the world! (Literally speaking). I proudly recommend Capella to anyone ready to take charge of their education and career.
