Columbia Southern University truly changed my life. I was able to pickup right where I left off years ago when I had to stop school for medical reasons. The registration staff is very helpful and are constantly following up to ensure no questions went unanswered. The tuition prices are affordable without jeopardizing the quality of the education offered. Read More guidance and tools provided by both the school and the professors are very helpful keeping us as students in mind. Any emails sent are usually answered within 24-48 hrs. Students are also engage in helping each other out as needed and we create our support groups to help one another answer any doubts or questions. I completed my Bachelors and loved the university so much that I returned to complete my Masters as well. I strongly recommend CSU.

I recently obtained my MBA at Columbia Southern. I was delighted with the life-paced learning. The course is structured with a 10-week completion deadline. You are provided all the material up-front and can work at your own pace. I have seen other online programs where the students are provided with busy work, complete peer reviews, etc. The courses require a lot of writing; however, the work is reasonable for a master's degree. An MBA education is a general education; it exposes you to concepts, theories, and tools that you can draw on in your career. The MBA will not "open doors" for you as some have stated it should. The program gives you a solid education that you can take to "open doors" for yourself with the confidence of good quality education. The instructors are fair to understand that most students are working professionals. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a solid education using an online format. The instruction was focused on practical education while providing a challenge to the student. We need more educational institutions providing affordable options as government-backed student loans have allowed the cost of education to become hyper-inflated.

I did not find Columbia Southern University's M.B.A. program to be as easy/breezy as some have stated- there was constant reading, research and writing throughout the year-and-a-half I completed my online M.B.A. degree. I enjoyed some of the coursework and being able to do assignments at home, but I had a big problem with the lack of communication and what seemed to be arbitrary grading practices by some of the instructors, to the point I wondered how much time and effort they were putting in to read and grade the assignments- for example, I might get 100% on an assignment I made a good effort on, but then have my score drop to a low-90's/high 80's range (sometimes with no explanation) for a project wherein I clearly made a substantial effort. I suppose this situation is more apt to occur with online degree programs, but improvements could be made to ensure everyone (both students and professors) are taking their responsibilities seriously. Overall, Columbia's courses are well-organized and provide a solid overview of the subject matter. It worked well for me, but I was relieved when the classes and this type of grading were over.

Completed the MBA (General Management) in the summer of 2018. Overall I thought the coursework while not overly challenging still fulfilled my desire to get a overall understanding of business. Professors are more like facilitators than teachers as there is very little real interaction as all of the work is pretty much prepared modules that get reused with each term. Read More what attracted me to CSU was the price which for a mid career professional looking for education without breaking the bank is a great deal. Even better was the generous transfer policy. Since I had already completed graduate coursework at Univ of Minn and UCLA I was able to transfer about half of my courses. My biggest complaint is the lack of regional accreditation as well as ACBSP or IACBE business accreditation. Adding these accreditation labels would give students more bang for their buck.
