Degree: Social Work
I enjoyed my years at FAU. I love that they offer day and night classes and that they have several campuses that you can attend in Broward and Palm Beach County. They also offer online courses which helped me a lot because I work full-time. FAU has many clubs, athletic events, and school spirit. They are always very professional and were very helpful anytime I needed assistance. The advisors were flexible and were willing to call and speak with me over the phone if I didn't have time to come and... Read More

FAU school of social work is unparalleled to any other school. 99% of the professors are brilliant and offer valuable insight and lessons. Even better to know that they are all open and willing and encouraging of offering support in guidance throughout the education process. The trick to having a great social work experience is the internship so if I had to say anything in the realm of advice it would be to speak up for what you want and advocate for yourself when needed.

The Social Work program at Florida Atlantic University was beyond what I expected it to be. I was and continue to be extremely impressed by the faculty in the School of Social Work at FAU. One thing I really appreciated about the program was the level of competence most of the School of Social Work professors had. Many of them were adjunct, so they also had full-time jobs in the field. The most I got out of my courses came from the real-world experiences that were described to us by our professors.... Read More

I absolutely love my experience during my BSW! I can honestly say that every professor that I encountered was truly knowledgable, understanding, and really wanted their students to succeed. Sometimes, people think of having a successful college experience includes getting by with "nicest professors", and "easiest classes". However, although those are always in the students mind during the time they are competing a degree, it is NOT most important. You will really appreciate when you leave your BSW... Read More

The Social Work program at FAU did an amazing job at preparing me to work with diverse populations. In our classes, we covered information of a multitude of cultures, socioeconomic classes, differing sexualities, and vulnerable communities. Teachers gave us real life examples from their experience and painted a very thorough picture of what the profession was like. I graduated the program feeling confident and ready.

FAU is a well rounded institution. With the course work provided I believe I was fully prepared to enter the real world. FAU had a pretty open door policy. Instructors and administrators were always available to answer any concerns. They also walked with you every step of the way. I was recently accepted to their Masters program, and couldn't be happier to be going back to my Alma Mater.

Florida Atlantic University's Bachelor's of Social Work program is excellent; I learned so much and gained a ton of experience. The teachers are there to assist you and they genuinely care about wanting you to succeed. Their passion for their craft and their profession really shows through their teaching. All faculty members make themselves available to you (I would make use of that). I was able to intern through this program which was a requirement for graduation that I loved; it almost forces you... I graduated from Florida Atlantic University in December 2016 with a Bachelor of Social Work. I started FAU's Advanced Standing MSW program in May. I believe FAU's BSW program prepared me for generalist practice in the world of Social Work. Since I would like to work as a substance abuse counselor, I am now pursuing a Master's degree. From my experience over the last year and a half, FAU has an excellent program. The faculty is fantastic and genuinely cares. They are very willing to help and want... Read More

Florida Atlantic University is a university with several campus's which try to serve over 30,000 students each year. Explaining how and what to expect and the costs of education were not done very well however, once a student they did accommodate distance students on a satellite campus s to reduce travel. The education was of high quality and the information learned allowed me to enter my field of study early and begin earning. I am intending to apply for the masters degree of social work at an advanced... Read More
