One of the best things that happened to me in my life was taking a degree at my school . I have lots of opportunity for learning, experiencing the technologies throughout the academics. It is also a great place of cultural diversity and you'll have the opportunity to meet hundreds of people from all over the world. I am finishing up my first semester at GMU of MS in Computer Forensics. Biggest pro about taiking this program specifically at Mason is that you don't have to have a bachelors degree or any background related to in Computer Science in order to be considered. There is a list of few other academic backgrounds that still qualify. I have an foreign degree in Economics and got admitted. In the first place, it's really hard to find a school that teaches Computer Forensics as a degree. You may find classes,... Read More related to that field as a part of Computer Science program, but most likely you won't find it as a full rounded degree, especially MS. Biggest con it that if you are like me, do not have previous computer science related coursework, there re 5 preliminary classes that are required to be taken before you can start taking classes that would count towards your degree. Financial Aid cannot be used towards those 5 classes. Quality of education is probably highest that I've ever experienced anywhere. Cyber security and computer forensics is a rapidly changing world, and most of the professors actually are employed in the industry. This way we get the way of instruction that is the "insiders view" and not just limited to textbook material, and is so very recent that is not even found in the texbook yet. Most of the classes are in-person only, only small percentage is available online, also a lot of hands-on experience in the lab. Very well put together program, highly relevant to the industry class selection. A lot of assistance on government and law-enforcement involvement. Overall I'm extremely happy with my choice and can't wait to graduate .
