Great online program for MHC students. The flexibility of the program was one of the things that drew me the most. You are able to take your classes on your own time. Professors are very knowledgeable and are easily accessible. Classes are small so there is a lot of personalization.

I love my graduate program because of the specialized attention and support that I receive from the professors. It is conducted in a very professional environment, and there are numerous opportunities for us to grow as mental health counselors.

Full-time mother of two doing a masters program. It's difficult but manageable. I feel like I'm getting what I need from the program as well.

The pros of the program are the small classroom size and the availability of the faculty. The faculty is very much willing to further your academic and professional growth if they know you're in need of help. The cons of the program is the tuition. This is an expensive school but for a formal education you have to be willing to do anything.

NSU is a great campus and school, especially for social sciences and family therapy. It is one of the top schools for the discipline. Professors know you by name and relationships are built to continue through course development, research, publication and mentorship. Transportation is not that great but there is a campus shuttle. Parking is difficult. Living both on or off campus are incredibly expensive. But the area is very amenable and has everything needed. On campus there are a lot of amenities... Read More

I feel that it is a great program, but my only issue is that there are not enough Master level scholarships to help those who are pursuing a Master's Degree.

Pros is that it is a fully online graduate program where I can work at my own time. The cons is that I do not have access to all the resources the on-campus students have.

One of the pros is the small classroom size and the accessibility of faculty. In addition, it is seldom the case that a TA will teach the course. If anything, a TA will fill in at times, which always ends up to be helpful anyways. Another pro would have to be the access to the BTI Clinic, which is the most effective therapeutic training tool i have every come across. Honestly, the biggest con would have to be the parking.

My graduate program is excellent, I have no complaints. The professors I have taken so far are great and passionate about the subjects they teach.

This program has provided me with the opportunity to attend classes online and to complete coursework in a manner that is conducive to my current schedule and responsibilities. However, the cost of the program seems a bit excessive for the quality of education that is provided.

I think NOVA is a fantastic school. I think the staff is great there is always someone around to answer questions if not they get back to you very quickly. My suggestion to improve the program would be to have programs tailored to specific states if possible. There are a lot of students that attend NOVA online from different states. For instance I live in California so after I graduate I would have to take a few additional classes that my state requires that Florida doesn't. But in all it is a great... Read More

PROS: Many great professors that work in various areas of practice, flexibility to complete program while also working full time, advising dept. (Pat Z.) is quick to respond, Blackboard and e-Live online technology works really well with minimal issues (as compared to friends in other online programs), great education (but you have to put the work in! Professors will not hold your hand.), an annual list of scholarships is published (I applied for only one but did not get it.) CONS: Expensive tuition... Read More

I love that the program is offered online and the workload is not draining. I wish there were more scholarships offered to those online.

I have only been in the program for a few months, since I started in August 2013. So far I am extremely satisfied with not only the school environment and the cleanliness of the campus, but also the staff. I am currently going on my second semester and the professors I have taken in my previous semester as well as my current semester have been a huge benefit to my knowledge about the mental health field. The only negative thing that I can come up with about Nova Southeastern University is the traffic... Read More

I believe that my graduate program is an excellent one. The professors are very knowledgeable in their given field and want the students to succeed. The only downfall of this program is that it is not CACREP accredited while it is accredited by the APA.

The pros of my graduate program are accessibility to online degree courses and means of networking between fellow mental health counseling students online. The cons are extremely high tuition, online courses only offer one or two instructors per course, many of the instructors choose to be inaccessible and the mental health counseling program is not CACREP accredited.

Nova is a great school. The professors are very experienced, and knowledgeable. The only cons is that there's couple of field campus which is where I am, and some of the resources that are available at the main campus are not available to the students at my field campus.

Nova provides flexible online courses that work well with those with a busy career or family life that would make traditional classroom settings impossible. The courses are easy to navigate and the professors are extremely helpful and informative. They understand your schedule and work with you, while still providing a challenging and productive learning environment
