I took advantage of Purdue Global's Excel Track program for my Bachelors in Cybersecurity. The classes were well designed and pertained to relevant information in the field. I've been in my field for a long time, and was a little apprehensive about what I was going to see; I was impressed. I didn't find the classes to be redundant, and I found myself enjoying them. I initially thought I'd go into the program and simply see things I already knew or experienced, this wasn't always the case. Sure there... Read More were things I already knew and could probably have skipped over, but I liked refreshing my skills and measuring myself against what I knew versus what I didn't know, or had forgotten.
The only issue I had, and it could be a personal one, was that a few of the classes, the math based courses in my experience, seemed out of sync with what was taught versus what was being tested. I ended up going to an external site and transferring credits in for the math courses. Out of all the classes I took, these were the ones I felt were most troublesome. My counselor helped me figure out the way ahead that worked for me, so while it was a little more burden on me, I wasn't left managing it on my own.
Overall, my experience was great. I loved the speed with which I could go through material and the curriculum was well thought out. There is a robust support system to help you through anything you're afraid of encountering. Everyone I ever dealt with from tutors to administrative support were wonderful and encouraging. They really helped keep me on track and successful.

My time with Purdue Global has been interesting, to say the least. I spent most of my degree working full time, and at the end, it became 50+ hour workweeks as I worked two jobs while going to school full time. The coursework was typically manageable, though I often found myself spending more time on it than anything else. I was there to learn, and I prioritized it over everything else. Something that one of my teachers once said rings true: "Right now, you're missing out on the holidays because... Read More your in school, while your friends are out celebrating. In four years, you'll be the one celebrating, while they are working the same dead end jobs with no hope in sight. Stay home and work, and in a few years, you'll be glad you did." Well, he was definitely right. I have weekends and holidays off, while I watch others toil thanklessly in a job that I did only a few years prior. My degree has allowed me to work in a role where my ideas and contributions are valued, my time is respected. These things are worth more than the few missed holidays and weekends I spend writing essays and discussion boards. Make no mistake: Purdue Global made me work for my degree, but I eventually succeeded. I encourage other people to pursue higher education to open themselves up to better opportunities and careers.

The B.S. in Cybersecurity - Excel Track degree program online from Purdue Global is an excellent choice for students who are fast learners and work at their own pace. I recently graduated from Purdue University Global, and overall I am extremely satisfied with my experience. The terms are ten weeks, and students can complete as many 1-hour credit modules as they desire. No module can be open at the end of the ten-week term, or there are academic penalties. The format of the Excel Track program allowed me to work around my disabilities and achieve my academic dreams. The financial aid department is great to work with, and Purdue Global accepts the Pelle Grant. I enjoyed my experience so much that I decided to continue my studies, and now I am enrolled in the Excel Track Master in Science in Cybersecurity Management with a concentration in Critical Infrastructure Security. Purdue Global has been designated by the National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CD) for the Master of Science in Cybersecurity Management. Purdue Global also offers courses in more of a traditional format with lectures from professors and assigned work. I appreciated being able to buy my textbooks in print form for an additional cost outside of attendance. I have an eye injury and vision problems that make it more difficult for me to learn and absorb materials that are in a digital-only format. Good old-fashioned paper books are not available at all schools, and there were two or three classes that I had at Purdue University that did not have printed books available for students to purchase. Purdue Global's curriculum and commitment to academic excellence make it a far superior choice for cybersecurity-related degrees than ECPI, Western Governors University, and other institutions that I have attended. Overall, I recommend Purdue Global to anyone seeking an online format degree, and I feel that my education was a good value. Purdue Global also has partnerships with companies such as Booz Allen Hamilton, Northrop Grumman, and many more, to assist students in gaining employment after they graduate.

Not an online program I would recommend. My experience has been underwhelming and disappointing to say the least. After the initial enrollment I have heard nothing from my student advisor. The voicemail box has been full since my first term and my student advisor has not responded to any of my emails. I had issues accessing books, which I had to buy myself, and I wasn't even allowed to discuss or know what my next classes would be for the next term until two days before. The site also gets shut down... Read More often for maintenance and that can make it really difficult to get assignments done or access content within each class module. The classes aren't bad but for someone spending money to go to school I look for more out of my classes. For example, if I'm paying X amount of dollars per unit I should have a say in what classes those would be. Also, not having access to my student advisor when I need them is really frustrating and I ask myself..."why am I sending this school my money?". When you call to ask for alternatives or people you can talk in regards to an issue when you advisor isn't available the staff are usually rude and condescending with their responses, sometimes not even allowing you to finish what you're going to say. That's terrible and shouldn't be allowed to happen. I know I won't be finishing my degree with Purdue Global Online. Overall I get the impression that they really don't have it together and based on some of these other reviews I also suspect varying levels of nepotism operating behind the scenes.

The school overall was great, had a great structure, easy to navigate, and had great choices to help out when needed. Some of the instructors were too lenient at some points and a bit harsh on others. Yes, they are there to help us succeed but there seem to be a few people who slip through who should be held accountable for their lack of commitment. DON'T GO HERE. They will lie to you and tell you that you can try classes for free for a week. Then when you call in to drop the class, they'll fail to do their job and charge you thousands of dollars for their negligence. Absolutely horrible school and horrible experience. Strongly urge you to check the Better Business Bureau report about this company before getting involved with them. Purdue University Global is a complete disgrace and embarrassment to the entire Purdue University System. The admissions team has zero integrity and will sell you this dream of being a "Purdue University" student...and being in same company of people like Neal Armstrong and Drew Breeze. Conflating Purdue University and Purdue University Global is unethical as the two are hardly the same. Purdue University is an actual research university and Purdue University Global is not...it's Kaplan University.... Read More The same Kaplan University that made headlines for their guerrilla registration practices that dupe students out money. The same Kaplan University that made headlines for their predatory enrollment practices that target desperate people. The financial aid team is a hot mess. Depending on the day--even the hour--you will call and get a different answer from someone. Their scripted answers for resolution of every question is "5-7 business days" just to get you off the phone. When they make mistakes, there is zero accountability. Purdue University Global's model is clear. Max out federal loans for every admitted student. That's the MO. At $371 per credit hour, there are more than a dozen bachelor degree programs that are IMPOSSIBLE to complete using federal loans. Impossible. If you don't want to believe me, believe the math. Purdue University Global's bachelor's degree in cybersecurity has 180 credits. The tuition is $371 per credit. The technology fee is $295 per term. The lab fee is $65 per term. If you average 10 credits per term, it will take you 18 terms to complete. Your undergraduate aggregate loan limit from the Department of Education--the max you can borrow in federal loans--is $57,500. TUITION COST: $371 X 180 = $66,780 TECHNOLOGY FEE COST: $295 X 18 = $5,310 LAB FEE COST: $65 X 18 = $1,170 TOTAL COST= $73,260 Yes--$73,260! Overall, attending Purdue University Global was the worst mistake of my academic career. My experience is that this is a sham public university. My advice is for anyone considering Purdue University Global to find another school that has real standards. Purdue University Global is nothing more than a white label for the struggling for-profit Kaplan University. There is Purdue and Pur-Don't (AKA Purdue University Global). Say no to Pur-Don't.

I was satisfied with the school but I ended up going to another school. First let me tell you this is how it worked for me. They give you a written assignment for every unit in most classes. Sometimes two written assignments that I have seen from 100 words to 500 words. Then you have to contribute to two discussions per unit. Then for each discussion you have to post two replies to two students for each discussion. School units start on Wednesdays and end on Tuesday. Seminars are mandatory. With... Read More seminars you attend at a time convenient to you. If you can't attend seminars you can do an option two which is describing what happened in the seminar (seminar is recorded) or sometimes the teacher gives you a written assignment to complete instead. I took 4 courses here and the courses are 6 credits each. Each term is 10 weeks. And you can only take two courses per 10 week term. For discussions, each post is worth 33%. And you have to post up to 3 times per discussion. Now i ended up going to another school called ECPI. Here's the difference. Seminars are not mandatory in the new school, they are recorded for later viewing. Also the weeks start on Monday morning and end on Sun at 11:59PM. It is a bit more organized at ECPI. And the courses are 5 Weeks long and only 3 credits. And you can take up to 3 courses per term at ECPI. At Purdue, my school costed $1855 per course and at ECPI it would average out to $2700 total for up to 3 courses. At Purdue they have quizzes but the teachers give you the answers to them. However I think they are doing away with the quizzes. At ECPI the quizzes count as a small percentage of your grade. But at ECPI it is less writing definitely. Plus I can get my bachelor's next year at the new school and at Purdue it would have taken me to the year June 2021.
