I'm currently switching careers. I wanted to earn a Bachelor's in Business before going off to law school. Decided to take an extra year and earn my MBA too. I had previous college experience under my belt so was able to complete both degrees in 3 years. There was a lot of reading, research, and writing both programs. Read More who devote themselves to the assignments and get as much out of the experience as possible. I would say this is par for the course in higher education today. There wasn't much in the way of extra curriculars. I was an active member of the pre-law society for 3 years. I published many articles for the group to read and to collect useful information for those interested in pursuing a legal career. Sadly, the involvement stopped there. the group never materialized past being a message board. Bottom line, this program can be a good experience if you make it. I have seen many classmates pass without a clue on how to read a balance sheet or do basic research on topics. That's probably the worst of it. I have seen many class mates graduate with a great understanding of business and how to apply it to their unique careers. So, I would recommend this program to anyone who has a drive in a subject area. I also think that having a natural curiosity for academia is essential. Again you can get good grades by doing minimal work, but in order to truly earn a degree in this or any program, serious commitment and drive will need to be there. I just don't want anyone wasting money for pieces of paper that won't help them.

I would NEVER recommend this school to anyone, NOT even to my worst enemy if I had one. This lack luster university and is a complete SHAM of a school with a poorly adhered Purdue University wrapping paper attached to is disgraceful name. Everything about the MBA program screams FOR PROFIT! First of all in the accelerated program, students only have 6 weeks for all of the modules. Read More of the program was not created for the majority of working parents to succeed (definitely not for single parents). All of the rules are geared towards you spending more money and Kaplan making more money. The reason I call it Kaplan is because all of the courses are STILL Kaplan courses nothing has been changed to the standards of Purdue University. The majority of the professors are awful they either over grade or under grade therefore, you never know what to expect. The advisors are useless and provide little to no help or guidance and there is ZERO support at this fruitless awful online university. I really cannot emphasize enough for anyone thinking of this program to just forget it. Also there are way too many courses for an MBA of this caliber. The courses are all over the place and USELESS! One module was about writing professional letters and emails which is beyond ridiculous. Why not have an international business course, or business law or something more significant that TRULY relates to an MBA degree. Recently, I have also seen on the Kaplan forums that recent graduates cannot find work even with Kaplan being under the Purdue umbrella. Unless you have a really amazing job at an excellent company that will promote you either way I wouldn't even give this program a second thought. Going to this university has been one of the greatest mistakes of my life and I hope to prevent as many people as possible from making the mistake I have unfortunately made. I would advise you to listen to students that have gone before you and do not fall into the trap of the sweet talking admissions advisors that are ONLY looking to make their sales numbers.
