As an online graduate student in the Interdisciplinary Engineering program this review will be primarily focused on the online aspect of my degree. From the initialization of my online accounts to the countless number of online resources, Purdue really gives its online graduate students all of the tools its needs to succeed. Online students follow an on-campus class, which means that all the lectures, classwork and finals are exactly the same for every student. I actually prefer a recorded online... Read More lecture over my on-campus bachelor classes that I attended. The professors are very tech-savvy and they do a good job at making the distance students feel like they are always available for questions. Beyond the classes and online aspect of the degree, the university itself has very strong academic reputation that demands a lot from its students. The classes a very challenge, but the flexibility of a graduate degree from allows you to choose classes that prepare you for future academia or fture career opportunities. Lastly, due to the nature of online classes, all part time graduate students are not applicable for any kind of government sanctioned financial aids, so keep that in mind when applying. Overall, my time at Purdue has been nothing but positive and I am excited to see where my graduate degree takes me.

I am completing a dual degree through Purdue and Indiana University for a Masters in Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration. My engineering undergraduate degree led me into the world of manufacturing learning about lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Interacting with the professors was never a problem. They are all very responsive to email and are aware of their distance learning students and will accommodate them in however fairly they can. I highly recommend a distance learning degree program. It has enabled me to land my dream job working as a Business Process Improvement Managers, where I get to be a part of all the departments in my company and work as a consultant to each to try and develop and improve difficult or problematic processes.
