This program uses real world examples to learn from and expose your mind to new thought processes. This helps to apply the knowledge and put it to work immediately. I feel that I am prepared at a higher level for business with each class that I complete in the program. I am half way through the program and have already grown considerably as a leader and manager. This has been my first semester in the WP-MBA. There has been 1 online (distance) course and 3 courses (4 actually because 1 course is divided into 2 subject matters). The online course has kept me busy every week and several days a week. I work full-time and I feel that the course load (especially if you count the number of hours of the courses) adds up to be like a full-time student. Being out of academia for 7 years has kick started my adrenaline but sometimes I wonder if the course load is appropriate... Read More for students who are employed full time.

I am in the inaugural STEM MBA program. I really do like that it is a one-year program because it lets me move ahead in my career faster than if I had done a standard MBA. The staff and faculty support is incredible and I truly feel that everyone wants me to succeed. The content is fairly demanding given our time restraint but overall the professors view our work favorably and take into account the other responsibilities we have in our lives. Lubbock is definitely a college town so anything having... Read More to do with Tech is usually fun and exciting, but other than that it is a pretty boring town. Very affordable to live here, though.
