I graduated from UTA with my MSN FNP. My whole program was online and I only set foot on campus for graduation. This is a great school. It is sad to see so many negative comments, but do not let that deter you from pursuing your goals. I highly suggest planning to invest 15 hours of your time studying weekly for every credit hour you're taking each term. I thought the classes were fair, the instructors were accessible and helpful every time I had questions, and I learned lots of helpful information... Read More and "tricks of the trade" from my professors for my career as an FNP. When I took my boards I passed the first time as did 7 of my peers. I highly recommend this school!

So I am currently 1 year and a half into the program. The beginning was not bad and most classes were a joke. I feel like at this point in the program they make the classes unbearable because they know that you are too far in to back out. I am about to take the final for Family 2 and this class had been my worst nightmare. The tests are short answer, not fill in the blank short answer, but they are essays. There's a total of 10 questions with sub questions. There is no way a person can memorize all... Read More the information they expect you to regurgitate back for these exams. I am a straight A student and have been throughout my BSN but this class is impossible. I am barely making it by with a B. I have no idea if I am going to pass because of this final. Personally, I think I am doing pretty good in these tests but the grading is so subjective per coach and my grades do not reflect that. I am studying my butt off and have absolutely no life. This program is not worth it. Not to mention I do not feel prepared at all for clinicals. Look for something else. I wish I had a good program to recommend to you all.

I started this program with high hopes. My kids were grown, so I thought I would give it a chance. I received my BSN from TT and wish I would have stayed there. The very first class my "NEVER SICK" 24 yo son vomited for10 days straight. We were transfereffed from ER to ER where they finally found a problem and he had surgery. Of course this was course #1. Despite the above, I made a "C" in the class, which I felt like a superhero for achieving, but that grade has followed me throughout the program.... Read More Now I am at the point that they want me to take the 2 hardest classes back to back (for my degree plan) and make an "A". Let me just tell you for me, it is almost impossible. They even dropped me with 5 assignments left because they did not think I could make an "A". I ask for tutoring-that consisted of a phone call to see how I was studying. Really? There is no actual teaching online-it is watching a monotone man read from a paper. I am begging to be tranferred out, but I have messed with this place so long I feel stuck and who wants a FNP transfer on probation & is giving me 1 more chance to make an "A" to bring up the "C" 2 yrs ago. Really?? This is real life. I was doing assignments when my son was asleep while sitting in a wheelchair outside of his door (to drink my coffee to try and stay awake because smells made him nauseated). Does anyone at this school care? It would be nice to know. I am scared to death to try the course again-1 more chance forever-you only have 3 chances. The first Advanced Pathophysiology I took I made a 68. The second they dropped me and now I have 1 more chance. Those are not very good odds. I try to be honest and not cheat when I know of 4 students who cheated through this class and they are on their way to finishing. Wow, that is all I can say. Unless there is a miracle I feel doomed. Horrible review, but all true. I am scared to even start another class because my dad is so ill. Maybe this just wasn't meant for me.
