Degree: Elementary Education
What I liked most about the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Alternative Master's Program in Elementary Education is the realistic job outlook that the professors provided for us teacher candidates. To illustrate, during the first year of the program, I learned an immense amount about the theorists in education, hands-on and inquiry-based instructional strategies to keep children engaged, and the importance of building autonomy in children. It is crucial for students to comprehend how to construct... Read More

Nice campus with a closeby local scene. Great health and wellness services. They're able to refer students to the Dept of Psychiatry so they're able to fill prescriptions. The local groups and dorms really try to keep students involved and theres always a festival or something cool going on. Nice food options. Definitely the place to go for a medical degree

Degree: Biology
UAB is an excellent school that caters greatly to the health professions. I majored in Biological Sciences and really had some amazing teachers (and tough) who I will never forget. They do a wonderful job of making sure you understand the material they teach and having back up support if what is taught in class is not enough. And the campus is very easy to navigate, I never had any trouble finding my classes. Most students on campus are very friendly and very willing to help you around. My only drawback... Read More

Degree: Healthcare Management
UAB is a great school for any healthcare field. I focused on healthcare management and it has done wonders for my career. Since I graduated in 2016 I have moved to a new city and will be returning to UAB to complete master's degree. The professors are always open to questions and will do whatever is necessary to make sure their students succeed. It is an honor to have obtained a degree from such a wonderful place.

The University of Alabama in Birminghams Physician Assistant program has found a place in my heart for five key reasons. First, the University of Alabama in Birmingham Physician Assistant (UAB PA) Program is rigorous, well developed, and very successful. As a testament to the rigors and success of the program, US News and World Report continues to rank the UAB PA Program among the top 20 programs in the nation, year after year. University of Alabama at Birmingham is known for it's medical graduate programs. I was a little nervous about pursuing a degree through a distance learning/online program, but since I live in GA and not Alabama, and couldn't uproot my family for this program, I had to dive in head first. I could not have been more pleased with this program. The instructors are engaged and care about our success. UAB is a fantastic nursing school. Most of the courses are on campus. They have an excellent skills lab with some top notch equipment. The coursework is difficult, but it adequately prepares you for the real nursing world. The instructors are great and willing to help whenever needed. I was able to pass my boards on the first try, with only 75 questions.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham has one of the leading nursing programs in the country. I am currently pursuing an accelerated master's in nursing pathway program for those who do not have a bachelor's degree in nursing. The program is fast paced, but the faculty are willing to help you with any questions and are approachable. I would recommend this program and school to anyone who is interested in nursing and enjoys a fast paced learning environment!

UAB is an amazing school. The curriculum is rigorous, but not impossible. The faculty listens to students and often incorporates ideas submitted by us to better the program. Everyone is very approachable and frequent contact is encouraged. You do not feel like a number or a random student without a name; the faculty members go out of their way to establish a relationship with their students.
