Degree: Elementary Education

Academically, I had a pretty solid experience at the University of Arizona. I learned a lot and got a great deal of hands-on experience in literature, pedagogy, and teaching. My professors were, by and large, fantastic and incredible resources in their fields. However, the University was plagued by financial issues. The main cultural resource center that I used for support, resources, editing/writing support, and community was systematically dismantled by administration who made it very clear (in... Read More

Like a lot of places, the quality of the education depends a lot on the amount of effort you put in. UA offers all the opportunity you need to succeed, but you do need to make an effort to know what the resources are and how to find them (i.e. advisors, tutoring, etc.).

Degree: Music

The material overall was not challenging and I learned less than in my undergrad degree at another university. The opportunities were slim and the culture between professors was toxic in my department and that trickled down to the students. Overall this school was a major disappointment, not worth the money or time, and did not help me step into the professional world. I needed a school where my professors were my advocate so they would help me get jobs.

There is a heavy greek presence and party culture on campus, but if this is not for you, don't worry, there is a lot more to the UA. Within a science major, there were many engaged students and fantastic faculty that were always available to me. This was when I needed extra support, whether it was related to class or an extracurricular, or just personal. I can't speak to the experience of going there for gen eds since I was a transfer student, but I was genuinely surprised by how great it was to... Read More

Degree: Architecture

At the University of Arizona, I received a great education in learning about sustainable design and building materials. I learned multiple programs that could make me an asset for many different positions. It also led me to continue at this school to pursue my master's in architecture, which I am currently enrolled in.

My college experience with academics and social life at the University of Arizona was fulfilling. It helped me to improve my personal character and employability, which allowed me to network and connect with other individuals in my field. I would recommend others attend the school.

Great learning environment with supportive faculty and hands-on experiences. Strong emphasis on practical skills and research opportunities. Challenging but rewarding, preparing students well for pharmacy careers. Friendly community and modern facilities.

the university of arizona was an incredibly rewarding experience. the comp sci program has excellent staff and I was always pushed to think at a higher level and solve complicated problems in new and intellegent simplifying ways.
I also enjoyed to scenery and architecture on campus. A world class university

Degree: Communications

The University of Arizona as a whole does not care about graduate students. However, the Communication department is fantastic. I loved being there and felt I grew as a student and as a person. The skills I gained are so useful for my career, and the connection I made with the professors, students, and staff have continued past my graduation date.

Degree: Public Health

The program is hyped by student services, but once you are in, you are left on your own. Professors and instructors are not interested in teaching and always seem to have better things to do than help students. Mentors are not very useful. Everyone is aware of the problems, but the effort to change things for the better it too much.

My son was a 2020 high school graduate who went to a four year college. With Covid, that meant fully online for the first year from home. By the second year he was used to this and wanted to continue to go online for the flexibility it offered. Midway through his sophomore year he transferred out of state to UofA online as the four year college couldn't see him through to graduation online. UofA was great at first, very helpful with the application process and the first semester of counseling. And... Read More

I'm currently enrolled in the online Digital Marketing Science Program, which upon academic success and completion awards you a Certificate from the U of AZ for the Program, as well as 3 additional Leading Industry Certifications (2 Google, and 1 HubSpot.) You do have to take each certification test and pass it. So this course technically falls under the U of AZ professional series programs, but it's part of the overall academic umbrella of U of AZ. The Instructor for this April-June Cohort, is Steph.... Read More

Degree: Teaching

Overall I would say this school is ok. I had some professors that were quite helpful and engaging and others that seemed like they wanted their students to fail because the class expectations seemed quite unreasonable. I was in the honors college so I can say that from my experience. In terms of the other aspects the financial aid office was pretty helpful but my advisors were pretty worthless. I had to tell my advisors what was going on so that was frustrating. I also felt the books were ridiculously... Read More

Degree: Psychology

I began my undergraduate career as an on-campus student. I found living in on-campus in Tucson wasn't really my sort of scene, so after I semester I moved back home. After becoming an online student, I did better academically than I had when I lived on-campus. Resources such as the ThinkTank can be very beneficial. I personally found advisers to be very wishy-washy. When I transitioned from on-campus to online, I met two amazing advisers who I only spoke with briefly. After I finished my transition... Degree: Health Education

My degree was in health education and special education with the purpose becoming a headmaster of chancellor. It was a great university and the program of education was excellent. I liked the teachers and the student and the community. I did not live on campus but there was always something fun and exciting to do. The library was a great place to study. The advisors were really helpful and the teachers were understanding and supporting.

The University of Arizona Architecture program was a great fit for me because we as students were encouraged to create our own field of focus for our studies. My specific focus was a combination of Architecture and Behavioral Psychology. This exploration was further developed with a semester abroad in Denmark. The school was a unique place that encouraged students to find their individual path forward in a profession that can lead to so many careers. My one disappointment was that there were no female... The College of Nursing at The University of Arizona was a great beginning to my career in Nursing. The professors were largely compassionate, experienced nurses themselves. I believe their combined experience and passion for nursing inspired me to be better. The practicals were easily arranged in various schedules to fit around work. The community health program encouraged our cohort to make a visible difference in people's lives. That being said, I felt a little shocked as a new graduate nurse and... Read More

I loved the community at UA. Everyone was also very helpful and I had several mentors, people who took my under their wing to teach me and mentor me. Not only was the college community like family, but the Tucson community was amazing as well. I also believe that the financial aid office was amazing. They were always attentive to the students' needs and did everything to ensure that focusing on school, and not worrying about how to pay for things, was the priority. Degree: Sociology

I completed my Bachelor Degree at the University of Arizona several years ago. Therefore, on-site classes were the only types of classes available to me at that time. Unlike today, where online classes are growing in popularity. I lived off campus and commuted several days per week to attend classes. I found the advisers to be very helpful. When I attended, there was a high ethical standard and academic integrity was expected. The campus was easy to navigate; however, parking was an obstacle and... Read More
