While the university as a whole is a research-institution, the Psychology program specifically has some of the most top-notch researchers. This is a large, urban university. It is sometimes difficult to feel at home or to get involved. Sometimes it is unsafe given the dangerous neighborhood surrounding the university. Much of the student population is commuter, so traffic and parking can be horrendous. Parking is especially bad on football game days. The psychology program has some wonderful professors but the building is older and the program is underfunded.

I attended the University of Houston-Main Campus for my undergraduate program. I earned my bachelors of science in psychology with a minor in health from the university if 2013. The university has a strong blended online program that works with their students schedules for working people to obtain their degree. I wish there was better counseling and organization to help students wanting to enroll, then pursue psychology degrees.

I was equally challenged and supported at this university and if you choose to attend I believe you will be as well.... Read More

It was a big campus with lots of activities going on. I really loved it. The only con was that it was not centered in a good neighborhood, other than that it was great.
