I chose UMUC because I wanted a graduate degree, but with my hectic schedule I knew going to a classroom would not be an option. Most of the classes were challenging, especially the finance class, which I appreciated because if forced me to take time to learn the content, ask questions and become more engaged in the class, so that I could be successful. Like ALL schools the professors were not all the 'perfect professors', but I learned a great deal, I wanted to learn!!!. Anyone who says they don't... Read More

I felt like I would have had a much better experience if I had more guidance. I started searching for college before facebook and a lot of our social media tools that we use today, so it was tough to review what you didn't know! Overall I'm glad I made the choices I did, but I think I would've done things slightly differently!

All classes were online, which is nice. I'm not sure if I would go back and do it again.

College is an opportunity to not only learn what you want to do and learn your craft, but a chance to expand your network. The people you meet in college are the people who will start businesses tomorrow.

College was the best decision I could of made. Not only do you learn the tricks to your trade and begin your voyage to find yourself, you also start to build a network. That's the most important thing to have leaving college - a network.

Being able to earn a degree online allowed me to work full time and take care of my family while earning a degree. The teachers were fair and I met all types of people from all walks of life. I am now thinking about going back for my doctorate degree.

I received my degree online. It helped me get my foot in the door and gain some experience. Once I got my MBA, I had 2 years of work experience and this helped me boost my options. It is very self-reliant and paced so you need to trust yourself to get the work done.

I completed my bachelor's at UMUC and decided to do my Master's there as well. The course work was extremely challenging. The advisors were very helpful. This is critical because when I completed my bachelor's I felt the advisors were not as helpful as they should have been. This shows that the school is improving.

What you've probably researched and read online is accurate from my point of view as an UMUC MBA graduate. This isn't Stanford Business School, Harvard, or the Wharton School of Business. It won't magically open doors to $250k a year jobs. It will fill the graduate school gap in your resume, fulfill federal government requirements for advanced education, and is respected because it is the University of Maryland. I have NOT had a negative experience or comments from employers when they see University... Read More

UMUC's MBA program fits seamless with my work-life balance. The program structure is extensive and encourages students to think broader and deeper.

For me, an online graduate degree is the most preferred option due to working 60+ hours per week. The MBA program at UMUC offers me significant flexibility with my schedule and still allows for constant communication with classmates, professors, and graduate assistants; all groups of people offer great critiques and overall allow for an individual to develop. However, this program is also not your typical graduate school experience; technology is required to communicate and therefore it can lack... Read More

Pros: I received my BS from UMUC so am able to take up to 6 credits less for my MBA/MS program. It is online and flexible for a working adult. GMAT not required however it can reduce up to 6 credits with a decent score. Cons: It is a tad pricy so a lot of people are looking for scholarships (like me who needs one).

There is something that is missed by going to an actual brick and mortar school. I graduated the UMUC MBA program online and I felt I accomplished a lot. However, was it as hard as actually sitting in a classroom and taking the class? I am not sure. I had to do a lot of learning on my own and that was tough considering all the management papers and research I had to do for the program. I thought for the availability of an online master's program it was quite good. I am happy with my overall success... Read More

There is not enough communication between the school and the student. I am a federal government employee and a military spouse trying to use VA education benefits. I have been trying since 2011 to get the military rate for tuition and use VA tuition assistance. This school does nothing but deny me and then cannot explain to my why I was denied or what I need to do to fix it. My advisor is never available when I call him, and barely responds to my emails. Also, I just took AMBA 620 and failed by 1... Read More

Although UMUC is an online institution the classes expand knowledge of students and allow students to think of the Masters and how it would apply to real world situations. It is extremely exciting working with students from different states and seeing how many difference the same subject can have in each state, this is especially true for Masters of Criminal Justice Management.

Although I don't live in Maryland anymore I use to and I always wanted to go here. It was a blessing to be able to get my dual master's from such an amazing school. Even though I live in California now, I always get the most polite and helpful assistance when i call whether I am calling the financial aid office or my adviser. If i cant get my answer questioned on the phone i can easily send an email and have the answer within the next day if not the same day. I would recommend this school to anyone... Read More
