I am currently in the University of South Florida's accelerated Masters in Architecture Program. This program is rigorous while it prepares students for many kinds of architecture career environments. It focuses on development as it teaches old school methods all the way up to hands-on experience with brand new technology. Pros include a culture of ludicrous hours and effort to produce models, concepts and ideas. Cons are closely related: Sometimes, it's far more efficient to teach someone the basics before insisting they reinvent the wheel for a project, but often, learning from the bottom floor is acceptable. I think this method is wasteful of time, though in the end it works, to a degree.

SACD is an outstanding school that strives to push you harder and further than any other major or graduate program. Instructors instantly learn your potential and encourage you to reach past it. Financial aid is very limited, however, and seems to only be presented to students who are "in the know" or close to the politics of the school.
