Phenomenal experience. I was accepted into USC after teaching at a public institution for a year; I really wanted to take it a step further by getting my masters and pursuing a physics credential. The professors were top notch and really helped me gain a deeper understanding of pedagogical techniques and differentiation geared toward diversity. If all teachers were trained through a program similar to USC Rossier, I believe we would have a much higher number of competent teachers. Being able to "Attend"... Read More class from home was very convenient and cut out any travel time that would result from attending an on-campus program. Honestly, I felt so much more focused in class compared to a traditional classroom, likely because I was just a "head and face" so others would know if I were to be zoning out. Class discussions themselves were rich in collaboration and small group work which was very helpful for learning how to apply theoretical knowledge gleaned in the course readings and educational material. Also, when you are a teacher, the name of the school you get your degree from CAN matter; having a degree from USC definitely puts you ahead in the game. The program is expensive, but the program is genius; I do not think there are many other institutions that could have prepared me better as a teacher.

My graduate program is very well respected. I am attending USC School of Education Rossier, to become a teacher. I am pursuing my teaching credential as well. The courses are challenging and the professors are great! I enjoy my classes and love that our professors are there to guide us and open our minds to becoming better teachers. I love the program and I am proud to attend USC and I look forward to see what the program has to further offer me. My favorite gesture that USC has brought to my attention... Read More is that we, the students, will be placed in high needs schools for our apprenticeship! I look forward to both working with disadvantaged and low income students. The only con that I see is that schooling costs are too great for someone with my financial background. I worked hard to put myself through undergraduate school. I was working three different places and now for my graduate school I am working four different jobs.

I am a part of the Master in Teaching online program. The online option for this graduate program makes my coursework, classmates, and professors easily accessible at all times. Online communication is rapid, thus making it reliable. It also helps with the hassle of having to drive down to the USC campus during heavy hours of traffic. Read More created solely for this program's students are available to aid students with job offers and workshops to ensure our success in the program. One con of the online program is that I am unable to enjoy the perks of on campus resources or enjoying the high popularity of student life at USC.
