While DU has a traditional campus, it also has an online school with degree and certificate programs available. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 5% of undergraduate students and 37% of graduate students are at DU.

DU’s distance learning programs are delivered 100% online, though certain programs may have in-person requirements, such as fieldwork. 

Some students may have concerns about the legitimacy of online schools. If a student graduates from an online school, such as a diploma mill, their degree won’t be beneficial when applying to graduate programs or seeking employment. 

To determine whether a school is legitimate for online learning, prospective students should research its accreditation status. Accreditation is given to colleges and universities that meet the educational standards to deliver traditional and online programs. DU accepts 64% of applicants. This means that about 6 out of 10 students who meet the admission criteria are accepted by the university. Applicants can submit their test scores, such as the ACT and SAT, during the application process, but DU doesn’t require them. 

Undergraduate students admitted during fall 2022 had a GPA average of 3.83 at DU. A good GPA for admission to DU’s online master’s program is a minimum of 2.5 out of 4.0 from undergraduate studies.
