While the classroom experience and the instructors were great and very helpful, Career Services leaves a lot to be desired. I graduated in February, 2011, with honors (4.0 GPA), as well as several other "honors" and certificates, including Certification in Medical Assisting, and still I have no job. My Career Services Rep has changed 3 times in 8 months and every time I get a new one, they "fix" my resume. They keep telling me that they are sending out my resume, but I have yet to get an interview.... Read More I have done more on my own than the school has. Being out of school 8 months with no paid experience (and can't get any, because nobody will hire you without experience), only leads me to the conclusion that Everest only wants your money and is only concentrating on the recent grads and don't care about the past graduates who are struggling to find work, no matter what credentials you have.

The other problem that I have found is that a lot of the prospective employers will talk to you over the phone, but once they see Everest as the training facility, they back off. So if you don't have a "hiring extern site", LOOK OUT!!, You are going to struggle to find a job.

What I really appreciate about Everest College is that, it gave me a chance to earn a career in 8months, that pays good, so I can pay my way through college to be a physician. The thing about Everest College, and any other college is that you will get out of it, what you put into it. I put my all into it and had a job a month after my last day of school. It's true when they say " Everest doesn't find a job for you" But I mean really?, come on, are you lacking that much determination to where you... Read More have to rely on someone else to find you a job? Cause if you are then Everest is not for you because you have to work really hard. The school work is very challenging, and it will consume your life.

It is expensive, but you can manage it. I had a few teachers that changed my life in a positive way. I knew student who had negative attitudes, and felt like Everest was not good enough for them, but in reality they were just lazy and looking for an excuse to procrastinate in life, and fail. So to all you who use the words " Stupid" and "Lame" or "Retarded", you might want to realize that no one takes you serious when your education is so limited to those immature words.

I was very happy about a year ago getting back into school after 10 years of being out of school.

Now that I have graduated with Pharmacy Technology certification and 3 weeks later I received a bogus looking parchment paper diploma. I was throughly disgusted when I received it in the mail. Man even both my High School diploma and Junior college Asscociate's degree carry more weight than that.

To make matters worse I am not able to find a job because most of the jobs that are posted require 3 to 5... Read More years experience. They are a total waste of money that I now have to pay back. A word to the wise stay away from these for profit schools. Your better going to college some where else that in my case means i should have went back to get my bachelor's of science that i only needed 3 semesters to finsih.

First thing is not every course at Sanford Brown is worth the money. It is your responsibility to look into different profession's expected growth, pay and earning potential, and check different websites to see job requirements so you have an idea of what to expect once you graduate. The MA field is already flooded, take note of that before deciding to go to school in order to become one!

Just completing a program does not mean you are essentially 'ready' to work in a profession. If you lack certain... Read More basic skills and are not able to uphold professionalism in the workplace it will be difficult for you to get a job. That's through any school and any career path. You have to aim to be top of your class in order to be top of the pick when it comes to landing a job.

Do your research! Don't just take an admission rep's word for everything, you have to be responsible for your own success. Make sure that the program you want to take is accredited by the body necessary for you to sit registry exams as soon as you graduate. Don't go by the schools website, go onto the accrediting body's website and look up accredited programs to ensure the SBI you choose to take that specific program at is accredited! I'm a future Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound student and have opted to take medical billing and coding in order to receive my 44 credits towards the DMU program. Its easier for me to go that route instead of community college. I checked the CAAHEP website for accredited ultrasound/sonography programs to ensure I am able to sit the registry upon graduation. SBI NYC, Garden City, and White Plains are on the list for programs in the state of NY.

The better you do in your classes, the better the externship you land and are given the opportunity to amaze a potential employer. Use it to your advantage! Nothing will be handed to you, you have to bust your butt and take what you want.

I will be taking two classes online during the upcoming spring semester (needed for DMU) at a university that offers an online Medical Imaging BS program open to candidates that have successfully completed a CAAHEP accredited course. I will be awarded up to 60 clinical credits for the SBI program and will be able to transfer in 30 more credits towards the 120 credit degree program.

Bottom line is do your research, the school owes you nothing but the basics, its up to you to make it spectacular! No school can guarantee employment, I know people with law degrees that can't get jobs! It really is up to you to make yourself stand out and network while you are a student so you have employers attention upon graduation. Get out and speak to individuals that are successful in your career of interest and find out what they did to get where they are. I spoke to countless ultrasound technicians and the head of the echocardiography department of a well known hospital just to gain insight. All of the technicians went to Sanford Brown and the head of echocardiography told me to contact her when I graduate. I'm getting to know the right people from now.

I've taken several formal private investigator courses over the years and I am a licensed Private Investigator. I took this course as a refresher and for continuing development. Overall this course was in depth a general (not state specific). I have 3 observations: 1) Some of the course material is outdated. I think we can move passed 3.5" floppy disks and very outdated computer technology that is introduced as investigative tools; 2)The study materials looked like they were made in the early 2000's... Read More and the self-check tests and exams were worded poorly in some areas; and 3) There were no videos or anything to catch the student visually. It was an OK class for what it was, and still a better than some of the in-class courses I've taken. This course does set a foundation but my expectations may be too high.
