I'm currently enrolled at LSUS, but am over halfway done. So far, I have 4 "A"s and 2 "B"s. Is this a tough school, yes. Can it be done while working full-time, yes. I'm really taken aback by the reviews on here and it's why I felt compelled to write a review. Getting your MBA should be hard, or else it would take away from everyone being able to actually obtain one, right? LSUS is the best value AACSB accredited MBA, and I searched for 3 months prior to enrolling. I work full-time between 50-60... Read More hours/week, I'm head of household with small children and I also take care of my elderly mother. Listen, if I can do this (taking one class at a time), then I feel like it's not impossible to do. Slow and steady and recognizing that although I'd love to double or triple up to finish, my life does not support that. I'll graduate over a total of 18 months and I'm ok with that. Typically reviews are only written by someone who is disgruntled, so here is my honest positive review of someone currently enrolled.

The MBA program at LSUS is a money maker for the school. It is the cash cow that keeps the whole school afloat. But is it worth it for you? No, it most likely is not. The teachers are average or maybe below average. The courseware absolutely sucks since they still use antiquated Moodle and either your professor knows what they are doing online or they don't and don't care much. Be prepared to depend more on yourselves and don't expect much help. They use ProctorU to keep track of tests or quizes... Read More and the program is very intrusive on your computer. I had proctors from abroad who I could not understand and I come from a foreign country. A few times I could hear chickens in the background of the proctors. That is not professional when you are taking a major test for a class that you paid $1300 to take. I once had the proctor start a test and then exit out of my browser. I lost over 5 valuable minutes of test time that I needed in the end. The school is not very well known and you can get more prestigious MBA degrees from other schools at around the same price. I learned more on my own than in any class and the specializations/concentrations are only 2/3 extra classes. MITx has a whole Statistics and Data Science Micro Masters program with 5 graduate level classes for the same amount of money it costs for 1 data analysis class at LSUS. There are plenty of other options for learning and developing yourself online. Take my advice and look around. I wish I would have.

The MBA program is not designed well for working professionals. The amount of work required in the 7 week courses is ridiculous for many of the courses. This is why a number of professors open up the courses early which demonstrates that they uinderstand the curriculum is impossible to complete in just 7 weeks. I would be very careful in attending the UNA MBA program. I already have two degrees from UNA. In my first Master's I received a 4.0 GPA and was very successful in my program gaining acceptance to multiple honor societies. The UNA MBA program is filled with snakes. I received an Incomplete for a course since I was affected by some tornadoes that came through the area. J. I. is a horrible professor, who has no respect or concern for his students in any way. His lack of care for student progression towards success is evident when a person who cares deeply about their grades receives an F for a class they had 85of the work completed. I would do everything to stay away from this professor. Overall, UNA is a great school and highly regarded in the academic realm. I repeat, Do not take a class with J. I. unless you absolutely have to and then ask if someone else teaches the class later on. It is worth the wait for the best education. This is a class he does not actually teach. It is fully online and he has a CTA (Clinical Teaching Assistant) who actually does the grading for him. Every bit of course is pre-made through a company called Cengage Learning. Make sure to check out the other great options as UNA is still a great school, be careful who you take classes with.

Grand Canyon University is a great option for those seeing a lot of flexibility with pursuing an MBA. The online program, while structured, makes it possible to manage a busy work and learning schedule. For graduate students, please expect to do your learning all on your own. There are no instructor led lectures, though professors do include lecture notes for some courses. A significant amount of reading and research is required for success. This makes it possible for one to learn at their own pace and complete assignments anytime during that scheduled week. Since GCU does not require GMAT for admission, some student's learning levels don't quite meet graduate level standards. One can see that in their short posts or class contributions. Normally this is not a challenge until you are assigned to work as groups to complete projects. Some of the less adept students necessitate greater work from the more advanced students in order to make the project a success. In the end I found that most of my group projects earned lower grades than my own work due to this limitation. I also found it difficult to coordinate schedules with my group members, especially when we are spread out across several time zones. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint are important, if not essential for some classes. Expect to spend a lot of time reading the textbooks. Students with strong financial, statistical, and accounting backgrounds will likely have the most success. Finally, I have found that, for the most part, the professors are quick to respond to your questions, willing to take phone calls, and provide good quality feedback on your work. There are some exceptions, but the most critical courses typically have the most advanced instructors willing to help succeed. I am a seasoned financial executive and found that the program pushed me to learn and succeed.

FlexPath is sold as a flexible way to complete a degree program, but it's so poorly executed that I can't recommend it to anyone. There is vast inconsistency in how each course is presented. Most are sorely lacking in resources to complete the course, or are so vague in their resource recommendations that you'll need to be entirely self-sufficient. Where software is needed (e.g. statistics), there is virtually zero guidance on which package to use or how to obtain it for free or at a discount (Other... Read More than SAS, which is impossible to learn quickly enough to be useful). Policy regarding academic engagement are not aligned with the website rules, so if you're interacting in spurts (as will be the case with most professionals), you'll be annoyed with warnings and the occasional course drop even though you've not violated policy. It really could be a great program with some attention, but in 2.5 years that I've been enrolled it's not improved. My advice, keep looking.
