I would not recommend using SNHU Online to further your studies. As an older individual attending classes, I had a 4.0. That was until one lecturer accused me of utilizing artificial intelligence. My work was "too well-written", which in her mind was a criminal offense. I'm in my forties and can write quite well. She did not even read the paper I produced, which took me three days to complete after extensive editing and revising. My paper was identical to the work I had submitted throughout the semester.... Read More She slandered my name and character. I attempted to fight it, but SNHU refused to budge. I later discovered that she had accused several other students of doing the same thing. I dropped out of university and am now enrolled in another online school that does not accuse me of utilizing artificial intelligence. If you are considering enrolling in SNHU, save your time and money and don't.

Between unrealistic expectations in their history courses, having an 鈥渕entor鈥� who hasn鈥檛 reached out to me in 5 months, being ignored by my student coordinator when I told her I was depressed and struggling with my mental health. All my professors were great, but some give a ridiculously large amount of work for an online SUNY. I don鈥檛 know if they are trying to prove something since they鈥檙e online and no one outside of the Saratoga Springs area knows what Empire is. But this college made me hate... Read More History, a topic I used to love. Also, be prepared for 4 credit courses only. There鈥檚 absolutely no reason for 4 credit courses. They claim they鈥檙e 鈥渁dult student friendly鈥� but they鈥檙e not. What should be a 2 credit course, is a 4 credit degree planning class that you have to take. I鈥檇 be fine with 2 but 4 is obscene. I鈥檓 back in school for an AA, General Studies degree. 4 credits to pick out classes for 4 semesters is ridiculous. I feel completely abandoned by my mentor, I feel like I wasted my time despite getting nearly a 4.0, and I would never recommend someone to Empire unless they want to do the work Harvard expects but with a hardly known college and no benefits. The only reason I gave a 3 star is the professors. 90% are wonderful but the other 10% make it hard.

I understand that there are a number of individuals who are bashing SDI. I would venture to say that these individuals who "never" received timely feedback or similar correspondence from their instructors failed to check their emails and/or alerts. My experience with this school has been outstanding. I have attended multiple colleges and universities, and very few have given me the personal assistance and flexibility that SDI has. Any course that I have not achieved an "A" in has been due to a failure... Read More on my part. While this school is not on a Harvard, Yale, Ball State, or Murray State recognition level, it is an accredited institution. And for all of you "a** hats" who believe that you are special and you should have your instructors' complete attention, how about doing your homework and actually reading the books. This is a Firearms School, not a general education establishment. For those of you that have a problem understanding that, I will help you. SDI IS A TRADE SCHOOL. That means you have to use not only your intellect but your hands as well.

I would agree with most of those who gave SDI a low rating. I graduated with a 3.85 GPA in 2017. There was very little discussion or feedback from instructors. Keep in mind that most of the instructors, with the exception of the core class teachers, have other jobs within the firearms industry and teaching is there secondary profession, and as educators, they lack academic experience. SDI gave me a theoretical overview of gunsmithing, but not hands-on experience that could be applied in a real-world... Read More setting. Find a gunsmith program at a community college if you want to acquire applicable skills. SDI cannot give you that! What SDI did give me was the desire to move forward with my education. The introductory psychology class I took at SDI piqued my interest so much that in 2020 I graduated with a BS in Applied Psychology. This July, I will graduate with a Masters's in Educational Psychology. Then in September, I will start my Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology. So, SDI did not do much for me in relation to firearms, but they did open up the world of academia to me. After my master's, I will teach intro psychology at the college level. I am very happy with Allied American University. My course is accessible to me anytime. All of my assignments are due Sunday night by midnight. This works very well with my schedule since I commute to the office and drive approximately 2-3 hrs per day and work full-time while in school. I have tried other online and on campus school sand so far this is the best one. I read multiple reviews online and don't typically write reviews, but noticed many of the Allied American University reviews were mixed-up... Read More with some sort of poorly run massage school in another state. Please do not confuse that other school with Allied American University. They are different schools! Allied is great and it's the first time in a long time I felt like I could really do this. I know this will benefit me in so many ways and am very happy here. Also, tuition here is much lower than other online schools!
