I love ecpi! I was in the RN program which was great but I realized I don't like nursing! So I switched to the online accounting program! I love it! Even though it's online it's like being in the classroom setting! If you have any questions the instructors are always willing to help! Also they have tutors that will do live zoom sections with you! The program is tough because you have to really study and stay on track of your assignments. They give you all the resources you need to pass the program!... As far as job placement goes my friend who did the accounting program before me was able to get a job at Bank of America (With the help of ECPI) as an accountant! Starting salary of 56,000 ( Charlotte NC) I have nothing bad to say at all!

I think this school is awesome, I have had many medical situations and the staff and the school has been very helpful. They have wonderful disability services that can help people. The instuctors are usually very understanding. If someone is having difficulity they need to talk to their advisor. There is always recourses that can be done when it comes to any unfairness a student feels is happening against them from an instructor. I have ever had a problem with getting my dispersment checks or with anything I asked for. If I needed to move a class, I could, If I needed to take a break I could. I think that those folks that were having trouble maybe just did not ask the correct department or the right people. Sometimes we have to search and distroy to find the correct person that will listen to the situation. However there are always solutions to the problem if one looks for them. Some of the people that gave bad reports in my opinion could not have been more wrong.

This is agreat school and they give you more credit than other on line universities and it ends up being cheaper in the long run. I did check out other schools and I found many complaints in many of them. Way more than here. Please give it a try and make your own decision. I think you have nothing to loose. They give you ample time to drop the course without getting charged any money. And you can contact your advisor and have the course moved. Sometimes you have to sign in and post your introduction before they can move you depending on the situation but you can always ask to be moved from the class. I post poned one of my classes like 3 or 4 times. Now they have break requests that you can file when you are at the end of a course and it will automatically move your next course. I recommend still contacting your acamemic advisor though...have a blessed day!

I went back to school because I was unable to progress in my accounting career. I had completed approx 1 year of college in my late teens/early 20's and absolutely hated the 'brick and mortar' environment, so I decided to attend school online. I started from the very beginning and completed all four years of my B.S. in Business/Accounting with UoP online. I had a wonderful experience with my A.A. and B.S. programs for the following reasons:

The instructors were absolutely great- every instructor was currently employed (and had extensive experience)in the field that each was teaching. Most had Ph.D.'s, and all had a minimum of an M.A. or M.S.

The accounting program was very difficult at times and may be different from other majors (I'm not sure) because there is basically only one right answer in accounting, and very little room for error.

I don't think I would ever recommend taking certain classes, such as Finance or Financial Accounting, online because these can be extremely challenging and I could have used much more guidance than was possible over a computer. Still, I got through all of the classes, albeit with a TON of work and independent research at times.

If you have questions, the instructors WILL respond within 24 hours (either by e-mail or phone), but the online forum isn't always ideal for complex explanations- this is often the reason why people dislike this type of learning, or simply find that they can't absorb the material.

In this environment, you definitely get back what you put in. If you are very extroverted, lack discipline, prefer in-person interaction, require hand-holding, don't like to write, don't like to have to interpret complicated information largely on your own, this is probably not a good choice for you.

If you're like me and don't like to waste time listening to other students' (often) pointless questions or listening to a professor explain material that you already read in a course's textbook simply because you need to hear it out loud, then you will most likely love this school. Like any school, you will determine the quality of your learning by the quality of your effort. If you enjoy and CAN learn this way, then I highly recommend it and learned more in one class than in one year of traditional schooling or work experience. On the other hand, I completely understand why some people would hate this environment.

My undergraduate university Appalachian State introduce me to the new world. In college, I had a chance to talk to students around the world including countries like Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, Nepal, India, and many more. I was always eager to learn about their countries and cultures. These students were thousands of miles away from home. Their stories incredibly inspired me. They put a curiosity in my mind to go out and see the world. Coming from a low-income family I had never gotten a chance to travel anywhere outside of North Carolina, but with the help of many scholarships I studied abroad in Thailand where I discovered and learned about Thai culture and made many long-lasting friends. For that I am so grateful to Appalachian State University. They did a great job to help me with my scholarship applications and made sure I had everything that I needed to study abroad. Their writing center is amazing and always want to help their students to become better writers.
Appalachian State University have great faculties, and they are always willing to meet students that need extra help outside of class hours.

Lincoln University is a good school, because it is small and tuition is a reasonable price per credit hour, however professors can be sloppy and unhelpful in the business department. I have several teachers who know what they are talking about and have experience in the field, but they are not passionate about teaching and that really reflects in the classroom and during office hours. I have another teacher who is highly unprofessional, talking about how she feels she should be making more money... Read More than the others and even makes it obvious which coworkers she does not care for. It is also located in a "rougher" part of Jefferson City, so there are at least a couple lock downs due to armed suspects being on the property. This is scary, but it is also a "norm" at Lincoln, and their idea of a lockdown is to email and text students not to go outdoors; teachers never know when there is a lockdown unless they are on their computers during their office hours. You must be thinking, "wow this school sounds like a mess", well yes it is, but it is also more affordable than anything else in the area making college for people like me, who are struggling financially, possible.
