I would have given this school a 5 stars review couple of months back but now I am forced to reduce that rating because out of the blues i am now to take A&P class in person. This is not a core course and it should be optional to take it online or in person. I already have a busy life outside school. This just makes it harder to combine work, school and Family. Giving up is not an option for me thats the only reason i am not quitting because i am already stressed even before the class starts in January... Read More 2024.

I would absolutely NOT recommend this program for RN-BSN. There are a few professors who are unavoidable within the program and they will kill your GPA for no other reason than they do not want you to succeed. You can be 4.0 until you get to them. There is also alot of favoritism from these few professors towards Caribbean students. One professor does not hide her contempt for the US and Americans and hides behind a veil of "godliness". I just graduated with by BSN and I am so excited. It is something I have wanted to do for a long time. This BSN program was extremely challenging and to complete this program you have to be very motivated. I treated it like a second job and was very committed. I would highly recommend this school as it is up to you how quickly you graduate or not I had the most amazing student mentor that always helped me when I was discouraged or just needed some advice. I plan to pursue my MSN and start in September.... Read More If you are going to commit the time you will be successful, the courses are hard, if you are not going to commit you will not succeed. I highly recommend this school if you are a motivated learner.

I am one year of two years into my BSN degree through WGU. While I agree there are courses they could have accepted (i.e.: Nutrition) from my Diploma Nursing program, I was pretty happy to receive the credit I did, especially since I haven't been to school since 1984! I have a nurse co-worker who finished the two year program in 5 months! She works and has two small children. I do not mind the weekly calls. She is supportive and encouraging. I just finished my second semester 2.5 months early and am going to enjoy the summer with my family, especially my 18 year old daughter before she heads off to college. I love pacing myself to give me this opportunity! And there is nothing to complain about, in regard to costs. Yes, it is a very self-motivated program. I spend a ton of hours studying each week! Some of the activities are a lot of busy work, I will agree. The course mentors have been less beneficial for me, but I don't contact them unless I need them. I would encourage WGU to require the entire course site to be up-to-date for each student. I have found opportunities for WGU course mentors to eliminate old information which is no longer applicable. Proctor U does need to offer to "turn on" the items they "shut off" on my computer before disconnecting. But I have not had any issues with my computer after an assessment. I just have to remind them, each time. There are glitches...but in talking with my mentor, I am able to resolve issues. My experience with the IT employees has been very helpful. I have not had but a couple of issues with getting on the site...but what computer system doesn't have that issue at times? I have never had any of my tasks or papers sent back to me to improve or correct. And when I pass my assessments, my family and mentor are there to say, "hurray!"

I was first told about the RN-BSN program offered through Chamberlain College of Nursing from a coworker of mine. At the time, I was working as a full time critical care nurse on night shift and was enrolled in a different university that required in class presence, a long commute, long lectures, and standard sixteen week courses and traditional semesters. These factors made my goal of attaining my degree in a shorter amount of time impossible and my work-life balance extremely difficult to maintain.... Read More I take reviews from close friends and family to heart, so when my coworker urged me to call and just check it out, I was happy to find that all the great things that were said about this program looked to be true from the very beginning. The process of applying to a new school and transferring transcripts along with other personal information can be grueling and daunting on many levels. Chamberlain College of Nursing made it extremely easy and fool-proof for someone like me. The admissions representative that helped me was extremely personable and answered my many questions and concerns with the utmost patience and knowledge. After experiencing great customer service through the ease of contact by phone or email and very quick response times, I made the decision to finish up the current course I was enrolled in at a different college and make the switch to Chamberlain. My course ended in the middle of May 2013 and within a week, I had applied, was accepted, and enrolled in courses at Chamberlain to start in the beginning of June 2013. My transition from one institution to another was very smooth and stress free. One of the main reasons why I loved this program was that it fit around my personal and professional life and not the other way around. All courses were 100% online and were offered every 8 weeks throughout the year. I was given the opportunity to progress throughout the program on a full-time or part-time basis, had adequate guidance with registration of courses, and felt extremely prepared once a new course started. The financial aid representative was extremely pleasant to work as well as she helped me understand how financial aid works and assisted me with applying my school loans to my tuition each semester, which I had never done on my own before. Each course layout was user friendly and course readings and assignments were divided by week. Each course had their own specific designated deadlines that required student to post or submit work by and these guidelines helped me stay on top of my coursework throughout the program. The course instructors were involved in discussion threads, offered great feedback on assignments, and responded quickly and efficiently within 24 hours of any question or concern that I had. Objectives for each course were clearly defined and rubrics were made available for written assignment so I knew what was required for a desired grade. I started this program June 2013 and completed my degree October 2014 while continuing to work full time, go on vacation, and spend time with friends and family. Overall, I cant recommend or say enough great things about this school and the excellent education that I received during my time there. They made the transition and experience for me, as a returning non-traditional student, so warm, welcoming, and memorable.

Arizona State University (ASU) is where I completed my second bachelor's degree, in nursing. My first degree was in biology. Compared to The Ohio State University (OSU), where I completed my first degree, my experience at ASU was easily ten-fold better, and I'll tell you why in the following review. Navigating the college process from registering for classes, deciding on electives, figuring out aid/scholarships, and determining which materials are actually needed (versus those that are just "suggested")... At ASU the nursing professors and academic staff were prompt with replies to questions, and always provided my cohort with all materials needed to navigate the entire program successfully. I never had that at OSU, we all just kinda few by the seat of our pants without guidance, and I wound up having to stay an extra quarter to graduate, simply due to a class availability issue that would have been prevented with adequate academic counseling. At ASU, they literally ensured that you knew exactly what classes you needed by when to graduate on time, and they would help you with every single step, no question asked. There was never any doubt that I was on the right track; I always knew who I could contact with any questions or concerns, and they always got back to me promptly. In addition to the outstanding academic support, ASU has one of the best reviewed nursing programs in the country. This is due to their amazing simulation labs that allow prospective nursing students to practice real-life nursing scenarios, with exact equipment you'll be using in the field, and with high-tech manikins that can "react" to different scenarios/ outcomes. It's safe place to make mistakes and learn from them, before you enter the hospital. Finally, I've been working over the last two years after graduating with my Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) on neurology & trauma unit at Level One Trauma Center; I've found that my friends from school and I were more prepared and well-equipped to handle the transition into the hospital work environment. Many new graduate nurses struggle the first year, and it is by no means a cake-walk, even for those who are well-prepared. However, I found that my educational experience at ASU had me answering questions from my fellow new grads on the floor; while my superiors were impressed with the level of understanding I brought to the job as new graduate. I literally knew a lot more about nursing than they did from the get go, from cardiac medications, to IV fluid compatibility, to how to talk to doctors on the phone regarding patients. This by far was the strongest indicator that I attended the best nursing program compared to other programs in the area. It may not be the cheapest, but it is by far the best; which is why I am now planning on attending ASU for my doctoral level nursing degree.
