WGU does not communicate pertinent information clearly to students, and it is unacceptable. The biggest problem is that I have never been notified by the university itself of the changes. I found out in a student group on facebook a few months ago. The changes are in full effect, and to this day the school has not respected its students enough to notify them of the changes so that they can plan accordingly. Everyone who does not know from social media will find out by surprise when they go to open the class and this is unprofessional and disrespectful. WGU has this kind of mentality towards students- so buyer beware.

Finally a colleague heard me talking about my futile search for an online university and told me about her experience with Capella. I immediately researched Capella's programs and their reputation. I was very pleased with my findings. I then contacted them and after talking to the registration counselor submitted my transcripts and was soon accepted. Their RN- BSN FlexPath program made getting my Bachelors Degree very easy. I was able to work at my pace, at times completing two courses a quarter. The cost was very reasonable offering a price per quarter not per class, so to save money completing more courses per quarter I was able to keep costs down. The course material was very relevant to being an effective Nurse Leader and is helping me with my new position as Clinical Nurse Manager. I would highly recommend Capella University to anyone who is interested in advancing their degree whether it be online or by attending classes.

I have been an ADN for many years and thought it was time to go back to school. I enrolled in the FlexPath courses for RN-BSN program. Wow, what a great experience. The courses were relevant to my practice, evidence based and required me to use current research. It was interesting to see how the world of nursing has evolved of the years and the courses here made me dig deep and question what I already knew. The staff at Capella were always there to help if needed and typically took care of any question or concern on the first call. I was impressed and recommend the program to all who want to go back to school, but they would like to do it on their time.

The best thing about the Grand Canyon's Nursing Program is the level of diverse clinical and lab experiences they provide for you. There are lab simulations that they provide that open your eyes to scenarios that you wouldn't experience unless you were actually a nurse. Grand Canyon helps prepare you for patient scenarios that you might encounter later in your nursing career. This is what I think separates Grand Canyon University from other nursing programs. GCU equips students with the strong foundations needed to be successful as a college student and later in life as a nurse. I have yet to have a bad professor at GCU. I tend to teach myself the course content from the book or study guides, and not from lectures. Every professor that I have had at this university is approachable and works with you if you are a good student (attending classes, doing the course work, etc). The only thing I hated about this university was the powerpoint-lecture style that most professors have adopted nowadays. I learn best by taking notes from what the professor says and from what I read. Listening to hour long powerpoints is monotonous and a huge waste of my time. Other students enjoy that type of teaching/learning style, but I do not. The negatives associated with this school are the cost of tuition and the constant campus construction. For the 4 semesters I have spent going to this university, they have have been under construction. Whether it is putting up another dormitory, making another parking garage or making a stadium, they are constantly under construction. If you live on campus, you will be bothered by construction noise early in the morning. Commuters have to deal with closed entrances and altered routes to class rooms. Often more times than not, due to construction, GCU will close down certain parts of campus. This is frustrating if you are a newer student because you don't know which way to go sometimes. GCU construction is good on safety because they will provide ample amount of room away from the construction. The other negative about GCU is the cost that it goes to go this university. Though the university does provide scholarships, grants, financial counseling and financial aid disbursement, it is still expensive. I should be neck deep in loans by my second semester. Establish a means of paying for your tuition prior to coming to this university. If you don't, you will be overcome by the money and stress that comes with it. The biggest misconception that I see with students is the fact that they think you have to be Christian to attend this university. That is not entirely true. I am and have been with people in this program whose beliefs conflict with that of a traditional Christian. They were not chastised by the community or turned away for their beliefs. They made it through school just fine. Some students, like myself, came to accept and strengthen their faith by attending this university.

I LOVE GCU!! I attended another college online before transferring to GCU and it was the best decision ever! The assignments are due the same day every week, no matter what class or instructor, the work load is duable if you still want to have a life (worked fulltime, married 3 kids), no exams, no test, and I learned so much. I have taken a 6 month break and will be starting my MSN Edu with GCU in January- I hope to teach online for GCU one day.

Chamberlain has been a dream come true. I didn't think I was smart enough to attend a real university. I went for it in 2022. The day I reached out the advisors have been pushing me since. I took the HESI and passed with flying colors. I was holding off to start because I has the fear of failing nursing school. On March 6th, 2023 I went ahead and started.
