I usually don't leave reviews unless it is really bad. This school is bad. Honestly, I feel my money down the drain. School offer almost no scholarships (Don't believe what they say in admissions. They might say they do, but when it comes to cashing their claim, they such. Yes, there is 1 or 2 scholarships for a class of 100 students. What make me so special that I can get it?) Worse of all, I am paid expensive tuition to be guinea pigs for them to improve their online learning program, so they can... Read More use it to suck more money from poor students like me. Chamberlain is owned by the same company as Devry University (if anyone don't know, a private for profit "educational" company. They share the same system) They waste money on a lot of stuff that are convenient for them, at the inconvenience of the student. For example, their design their student learning plateform to be similar Canvas (exact copy with very few modifications). However, they did a bad job on it. For example, the Inbox is supposed to link to student email, but how many times did I missed important email or professor did not answer my email because of problem with their faulty plateform. One good thing about Chamberlain professor, most of them give you their mobile number for contact in case of emergencies (They know their email system is faulty and disorganized). So system is faulty, but most communications with professor are ok (depend on professor). Now, the main reason I write this review today. After this semesters, I finally get what the previous reviews on this website mean by they constantly change the program, and how it would affect the learning quality of the students like me. This past session, they introduced a system called EDAPT to help Next generation NCLEX in 2023. The intention sound just, except they introduced the program at inappropriate level and timing. Because the EDAPT learning is designed to make you think critically as a nurse (that is how they sugar coat it), is not like reading the textbook, or doing ATI. The information they give are what they feel is important, but does not cover the most important part of lesson. The critical thinking and practice for new NCLEX part is true, but I did not have the basic knowledge yet. And Without debate, crital thinking require basic foundational knowledge. This new EDAPT program is really similar to ATI with 3 key differences, and let me tell what is bad about them: 1. Correct answer and rationales are not always given, in addition to being arguable (yes, it's given sometimes, but inconsistently. At least provide me a reason for each correct and incorrect answers, so I know the correct answer, reasoning, and won't make the same mistakes again. Also, I might not know the answer, but what is with giving us ambiguous questions that even many experienced nursing professors would have trouble getting it right the first time. Then grade us on those questionable probles with questionable answer. ) 2. Lesson cannot move forward if students did not get a certain percentage of correct answer. And the program will give student more time consuming supplementary lessons after lessons. 3. Answer went from multiple choice to fill in the blank ( from pull down manu) or matching (from a box with movable answers below). This is bad because if the question and answer design is unclear, there is going a whole lot of mistakes and you cannot move on.(In the end, you can spend 12 hours because mutiple supplementary lessons) Also, this program is full of tech error. (Honestly, I am ok with screenshot my answer and sent them to notify of occasional IT error or answer mistake, but what is with getting marked wrong for so many answers all because. Having to deal with constant frustration of is adding stress to students.) Sometimes even all the answer correct, IT system mark wrong for non-sequenced matching answers. (That kind of IT issue is unforgivable; correct answer mark drown on tricky questions. Are they trying to kill people with frustrations? ) For example, Pharmacology. I got 0 knowledge. What do student found most difficult? It is remembering the different between drug in same class. However edapt lesson wasted our time on critical thinking, on knowledge I not have. The program did not cover everything they ask me, which means I am searching for answers. Yes, students can learn from searching quest and making mistakes. But I am not happy to do so at the expense of my time and grade, but this is what Chamberlain do. They employed a new time-consuming immature program that is full of mistakes, unclear and ambitious questions and answer, and jeopardized student's passing grade to test their program (who knows if intentionally or not? The first few semesters is so much easier. Really smart money sucking techniques, like gambling. First it let people win and pass through class with ease, then when people is half way in the program and would feel shame or sorry for giving up, they hit you hard with difficult courses and programs). Can you imaging having to read through 6 major chapters in Pharmacology textbooks, then having to do 4 units on EDAPT as homework assignments, and each unit cost at least 4 - 12 hours, and the worse part is, you won't get 10/10 for these 4 assignments? 24 hours on EDPAT, and the worse part is, I did not remember any single drugs in detail (all I learn is how to take quick screenshoting, trying to search for answer on internet. What part of that helping me with remembering the drug name and functions, I really don't know. ) In short, my time is precious and limited, and this new EDAPT program is sucking all my time from studying the basics. After hours of doing the assignments, I felt like I learned very little. Toward the end, all I remember is taking screenshots and searching for answer on internet, and trying to finishe the assignment as quickly as I can. Worse of all, it is so frustrating that after all the hard working hours, I cannot get full points for my hard effort. Students cannot move continue the lesson without passing with certain grade is a big issue, specially with school IT not sure how to work the system and they have to report the problem upward to national level. It might be weeks before they resolve it at national levels because there are too many mistakes reports. However, it the mean while, as students, we struggling pass the unit because the lesson stuck at a point and would not allow student to work on another unrelated units without passing this one first. So student struggles to match the "correct" questions with the answers that could appear in multiple columns. This is beginning of my 2nd year, and I am already exhausted and stressed like I never before. Yes, nursing students all need to learn effective time management skills. But time management is not a good excuse for giving us unreasonably time consuming assignments that is not worthy in effort and grades. Nursing students are suppose to be sleep deprived, but this new EDPAT program make it worse. The addition of the new program is not the problem. The problem is execution and human error. The school did not think before they Many of my classmates start a petition asking them to give full point to the assignment for effort. We already got almost 1500 people's signatures. Wish us lucks. (My feeling is, unless we keep stressing about the problem all session constantly, the school is going to only shove us off with the excuse that students have so much problem with the edapt program because they are unfamiliar, when the reality is the program is full of questionable problems and answers and technical issues that need to be resolve. Still too early to tell, but I will wait and see.) *I am usually a grade B test taker, and never missed an assignment. For the first time in my life, I might fail a core class not because I bomb the test, but because I could not get full point for my hard-working homework assignments, and that really pissed me off because it totally pull down my overall grade score. Take what my classmate said. This is not the education I signed up for. We are wasting time trying to run (critical thinking) without the basic development of musculoskeletal (basic foundational knowledge). In conclusion, professors are ok. But the school because the school administration on national level do not use their head at all. It is stupid to introduce a brand new, untested, questionable, techincal error filled and time-consuming program ( that is designed for final license test prep) in an important basic knowledge course like Pharmacology (that requires a great deal of time for memorization). Honestly, no matter how the school sugar coat it, people only have 24 hours a day to live their lives. (So COVID, online, new and inexperienced with the program is not the reason. The problem is executive level do not thinkg clearly before execution. So the learning program is far from complete with errors. And student got stressed with the grading cause by those errors.) Yes, assignmrbt should be graded like ATI. But ATI is a matured system that been out and used by Chamberlain for years. EDAPT cannot compared. So, it is wrong and unfaired to grade and reduce studying time for basic foundamental knowledge with a program that is designed for people who are ready to graduate. The school indeed affect my learning potential by a lot, in a negative way. I feel like quitting now. I think I acquired depression after I started EDPAT program. Even if my speed pick up after I become more familiar with the questions, that still doesn't change the fact that it is a faulty program that still needs tons of adjustments.

Grand View University provided me with the knowledge needed to continue my education. This I got from learning about policies influencing health, biostatistics important with population health studies. I was also able to participate in clinical in one of the local hospitals, at which I procured my first job. Though while studying here is expensive it did create a platform for me to be a successful nurse, and graduate student. Through my study plan I was able to take the NCLEX once and passed and began my journey as a nurse in the emergency department right out of college.

Lewis University's second degree bachelor's of science and nursing prepared me for my profession in nursing beyond my expectations prior to starting the program. In both of my jobs after graduation I have been able to excel in patient care and leadership opportunities.
