Being in a program geared towards working adults I found it somewhat difficult that the instructors do not generally work on the weekends when many have more time to focus on school. Some instructors did grade/respond on weekends which was very helpful. However overall it was nice to be able to study at my own pace and finish my program in 30 weeks.

The program has been a great experience. I have more opportunities for growth within my organization and motivated to continue to higher education. Distance learning can be intimidating, however the instructors were extremely helpful. The advisors are always available and respond back promptly to ease anxieties. Overall, I had a great experience.

I still have not graduated but I have completed 4 courses over two "semesters". I have no real complaints. The admission process was 10x more easier than the other two colleges I first planned on attending. Someone said you can only do one course at a time for the flexpath. Not true. They automatically sign you up for one class. YOU choose to do more than one class if YOU want to. It's not like that cap you at only one class a semester. The more classes you take a semester, the quicker you finish... Read More

I'm about to complete my degree at the end of December. I took 2 classes at a time, and I would have been done in a year had I not taken 16 weeks off. But that's the beauty of it; it's flexible, so if you need a break, take it! They have excellent support for tutoring and even have support for non- school issues if problems arise that interfere with school.

I gained significant knowledge of the nursing profession through the BSN program at Western Governors University. Despite having been a nurse for nearly a decade, it was easy to return to school. The program allows for a good school/work/life balance. However, you must be self motivated. It is easy to fall behind if you cannot hold yourself accountable for the work that needs to be completed.

I used the Flex Path and was very pleased with the flexibility of the courses. I used the tutoring service and the coaching staff. With each class the work was more challenging but there was help if I needed it. I would reccomend Capella University and the Flex Path Program. Its great for the student that works and wants to further their education.

I am so devastated at the fact that my employer,  does not accept nor acknowledge my BSN degree from American Sentinel University. Reason being, American Sentinel University is not recognized by the BORN in California or any other state BRN. American Sentinel University is CCNE and DETC accredited however; they are not regionally accredited. What a waste of time, money, and energy. I can't believe this. I am so devastated and humiliated at the entire process. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM AMERICAN SENTINEL... Read More

I graduated with my Associates Degree in Nursing in 2010. Excelsior allowed me the opportunity to bridge from Paramedic to RN and move forward with my career as at the time I was a single mother with 2 children working full time as a Paramedic. Since that time I worked as an ER nurse, travel nurse across the U.S. and have been a successful flight nurse for the last 10 years. I have obtained my CEN, CFRN and BSN which I received from University of Texas at Arlington. I would not have been able to... Read More

The ABSN program is very poorly managed with little support, they advertise they have an nclex pass rate of a 100% but beware! They choose not to disclose their attrition rate (about 1/2 of student cohort on average fail out whether that be entirely failing out or repeating a semester; only get one chance). Many professors are not qualified to teach, very lazy at times especially when doing “prepared” lectures. Nothing prepared to go over, just discussion which often times is side tracked. They are... Chamberlain gives me a complete support system. As a single mom of special needs children and who has not been in school in several years, this is the perfect school for me. Chamberlain helped me realize that I am not too old to go back to school. From the beginning of my application process until now (which is the end of my first semester), I had help and support every step of the way. Even my instructors helped me find the best type studying strategies for me. It is a lot of work, but the pay off... Read More

Don't bother trying to contact the dean regarding any professors, nothing will change. I can't wait to graduate and leave this school. I feel like I paid to educate myself. I am a nursing major. I enjoyed the prerequisite classes I took prior to being accepted into nursing school. However, nursing school is a disappointment. It is very disorganized. Professors read straight out of the book or off of a powerpoint, and they just tell students what to know. You only get eight days of clinical experience during first semester, and all first semester classes are held off campus because the nursing building is too small. I have heard from graduates of MC's nursing school,... Read More
