Initially when I read the reviews for Herzing, the majority stated, "this school is all about money" and "they will fail you". I went ahead and joined in anyway because of the family feel the campus gave to me (Minneapolis, MN) and they were very willing to accept credits that I've taken >5 years. It was hard for me to accept taking part-time each semester because I had a lot of credits transferring over from my LPN program and Associates degree but I was actually able to manage my life with school.... Read More Now I will only do part-time in future education! During the first trimester of the program my son was diagnosed with Leukemia. Even though I was part-time, school seemed impossible but the faculty was very supportive. With that said, they did hold a standard expectation of me and I did my part as a student. To simplify things, this school will fail you if you do not give them 100%. They will give you the best if you show them dedication. Unfortunately, I've watched close colleagues fail and put a lot of blame towards the faculty but a lot of it had to do with their efforts. I also like how they work on professionalism which has shaped me to be on time! One downside I will add is that they're kind of micro-managers. They are in charge of your schedule; you have to get permission to take more or less courses, and they will more than likely make you take less. This is because they want to make sure you do pass! It is a little frustrating though. Overall, I graduated with a 3.4 GPA and passed my NCLEX-RN first try!

I am currently an undergraduate at Middle Tennessee State University. Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed the courses that I have taken and the professors. It is a beautiful campus with numerous opportunities available. The classroom sizes vary between 30 - 100+ students; my largest class that I have had so far was about 105+, which was for A&P I. The smaller class sizes allows for you to ask questions and to form a relationship with your professor, which will benefit you later on when needing recommendation... I am currently in the last semester at Linfield Nursing College and I am happy to tell about my experience at Linfield. As a nursing student, I think I may not have as much training in skills due to clinical time limitation , but to me Linfiled BSN program is considered a good one compared to any of the other BSN programs around Portland. Read More in nursing school of all the hands-on skills that we had to learn.But as I continued through the program and starting working in the hospitals and doing my senior practicum, I realized I have learned many useful skills that help me go through each semester and become necessary experiences for my future career.I personally am very happy to have been educated at Linfield. The program helps nursing students have chances to contact to all filed of nursing, especially the psych-mental health nursing. What was hard to realize in nursing school was; developing my critical thinking skills was more important. Linfield does an excellent job at this. Critical Thinking in nursing may be an abstract concept to me when I was a pre nursing student before, but in a nutshell it is helping me see the bigger picture in patient care. I know every nursing program has its own strengths and weakness. With Linfiled nursing program, I really love what I have learn from it , the diversity, character depth and the critical thinking skills. The only disadvantage of Linfield nursing program, from my opinion, is that it emphasizes too much on writing papers that take so much time for students. I would like to have this time budget for doing clinical and reading medical books.

The thing I love about Madonna university is it's seamless and shameless infusion of Christian humanist philosophy and principals. The campus and class sizes are small enough so you will never feel overwhelmed by being just another cog in the wheel. All of the faculty and staff share the same heart for education and students. Read More For a private University, Madonna is relatively competitive and the course options are fantastic. because of the community outreach the University ahs been so long involved in, many disadvantaged and handicapped groups find their way on campus and students are taught whom they must truly serve outside of their education, a lesson I cherish deeply. Overall Madonna is concerned about your education, but more than any other higher institution I have attended, they are concerned about your character.

LU is a wonderful school and was a perfect fit for what I needed at that stage in my life. The nursing program is very difficult and takes a lot of work but it is well worth it in the end. The professors are amazing; they are so helpful and willing to work with you to make sure you understand the material and do their best to help you succeed. Avila University provided me with the tools I needed to succeed within my new and upcoming nursing career. I successfully graduated, passed my board exam and found a job all within 2 months of graduating. I now currently in graduate school 10 years later pursing a MHA/MSN degree. Creighton teaching methods were consistent and rigorous even for a BSN program. The last 2 years were the nursing portion. I was hungry for knowledge. It prepared me for a 400 hour preceptor ship in the pediatric intensive care unit.
