Francis Marion University (FMU) offers a wide variety of undergraduate degrees in the School of Business, School of Education, and School of Health Sciences. The majority of the full-time faculty hold doctoral or terminal degrees. My personal professors cheerfully shared their knowledge, skills, and time. I am confident I will receive the same attentive help as I have in the past. This program is a hybrid program with one day of class time and the rest of the program in available on line. The one day a week class is offered the same day for the whole program which allows you to plan ahead, if you chose to continue working during the course of study. I have found FMU to offer an excellent learning environment, small enough to give students individualized attention from faculty and staff, and large enough to let students grow their prospects. The college is located close to downtown Florence which offers many outlets of entertainment for students when they need a break from studying. I am excited and looking forward to The Luther F. Carter Center for Health Sciences that will be opening this fall. It will exemplify the forthcoming of health and medical education at FMU and in the Pee Dee. The Center will accommodate FMUs Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Education Program, the new Physicians Assistant Program, Clinical Psychology Masters Program, and USCs 3rd- and 4th- year Medical Student Clinical Programs. Students will find that anyone can fit in at FMU. There are diverse cultures, races, programs, groups, and ages. There is a place for everyone at FMU.

I started school on June 1 and have made good progress through my courses. I am 28 years since my last college nursing course and even though I have lots of great experience, I am learning so much!! This way of finally getting my BSN is challenging mostly in part due to the technology, but I have been supported well by WGU's technical support. The course content up to this point has been stellar and the classes challenging. I was not sure I would be able to pass... Read More Statistics, but the course mentor goes above and beyond with his webinars, support and availability. Other nurses I work with have had to drop out of their online programs just because they could not pass their Statistics course. I really like the self paced part of this program and so appreciate not having a weekly deadline to submit "papers" like I know other courses make their students do. This is the perfect environment for learning.

I am a long term nurse who has avoided getting my bachelor's for far too long. This is the only course for me at this point.

I tell young nurses all the time, get your BSN now!! There are so many options to doing this, just get it done!!

Georgian Court University has both good and bad aspects, especially when pertaining to their School of Nursing (SON). The professors who instruct nursing courses are a combination of practicing and non practicing nurses, which improves the learning experience. Despite this, the SON offers almost no notice for mandatory tests or classes, which are different from original scheduled class times. If you have a job, kids, or any other commitment separate from your studies, be prepared to make sacrifices... Read More due to their lack of communication and inconsideration.

Go somewhere else!!! I completed my degree here and would not recommend this institution. Poorly managed and run. Disorganized. They will call and email you for tuition money starting the second week of school, but will not notify the BON of your graduation until many weeks have passed. Go somewhere else!!! A few good instructors, last minute scheduling changes, due to lack of organization. Very frustrating experience, not worth the cost. Go somewhere else!!! You have other, better choices in town... The University of Washington- Bothell RN-BSN degree program was a great program. The greatest part of the program by far were the instructors and faculty that I had the pleasure of learning from and interacting with. Not only were the teaching faculty great, but the advisors were phenomenal and incredibly helpful throughout the program. The name University of Washington is one that is indeed renown among the nursing schools in the US and bears a weight on a resume and application. I have no doubts that the academic skills that the program gave me and the name of the school itself have been a significant aid to my admission to an DNP CRNA program.

Let’s just say nurses really do eat their young. I met a few mean and just pure evil nurses at this school that actually rejoice at your failure. I’ve never met such miserable powerless women in my entire existence. I got brutally screamed at behind a closed door after Acing a skill check off by a weak ( in all sense of the word) nurse who accused me of purposefully mispronouncing her maiden name— right before finals week. Read More she put me through and how stupid it all was—wish I could get back the time I wasted talking to this lady explaining myself . My only regret is I didn’t defend myself— I feared she would retaliate and you know this school tuition is crazy expensive . I stood there frozen and in shock as she belittled and berated me for literally no reason. I saw this lady smile for the first time as I held back my tears—she enjoyed seeing me breaking down— it was all weird. She enjoyed seeing me Mind you, this thing teaches what is probably the easiest nursing lab course— one could sleep right through it and still pass. I excelled in the course, mainly by self teaching and relaying on the lecture—because she could not teach if her life depended on it. Let’s just say, nurse educator or not no one will ever again have a moment like that over me.
