The program has extremely dated curriculum and is not current to what is being done in industry. Advertisement for the program states a lot of things that are misleading or simply do not occur in the program at all. Students struggled to find internships (which are required by the program) and faculty provided no resources to help. There is not a strong alumni network and there are very few jobs in the field. I would strongly discourage attending the program. It is very expensive and unless you intend... Read More

The faculty in the BMFS program are incredibly unorganized. It seems like they do not communicate with each other. They also say they have a biology track and a chemistry track, but they really only have a biology track. There are not enough faculty members to help out with the chemistry track so those students get kicked to the dust when trying to do a thesis or take the track exam. This program overall has been very disappointing and really should be re-evaluated by FEPAC for accreditation.

An expensive program especially in the city of Boston, but prepares you fully for a career in medicine!

It is possible to enter into the program as a genetics "major", join a microbiology lab, and work on bioinformatics. This gives the students an opportunity to expand horizons, find interests in areas they would not easily be exposed to and a norishing environment that welcomes interdisciplinary research which in my opinion is the now and... I recently graduated from the Masters in Medical Sciences program. I came in as a prospective medical student who's college GPA wasn't competitive enough to apply. In the MAMS program, we took actual medical school classes to simulate the med school work load and prove that we were capable of performing at that level. The support from faculty in the program was incredible. Everyone wanted to help you and they all were very knowledgeable on the various requirements of different medical schools. The... Read More
